Over the years, I’ve been critical of religion and don’t have much of a religious bone in my body. However, a lot of people do and also many churches are also nice architecturally. And even though I’m quite anti-religion, namely the Abrahamic mythologies, I don’t want to see places of worship burnt down.

Last night, another British church - King's Hall Methodist Church in Southall, London - was burnt to the ground and, looking around online, it appears to be rife.

In just the last 4 years, there have been well over 3,000 incidents of criminal damage done to British churches and over 150 have been burnt down.

In France, 149 churches have been burnt down.

In Canada, 33 churches have been burnt down since 2021.

In the USA, it’s reported that there are 1,300 church fires a year, with over 200 a year down to arson.

Known attackers include political extremists on both the left and right, Islamic radicals, and even satanists’.

Why are extremists such fucking cunts?

Notre Dame:
“Before investigations they said this is not terrorism"

The one in southall was boarded up and derelict, a building being errected next door so.

Many churches are protected and cannot be demolished, many are sold off by the CofE others left to rot, an arsonists or opportunist developers perfect target.

Whats might be happening in france as that american evenfelical link infers, who knows, maybe the french. have an issue but here, its more likely random

I'm not religious in the slightest, but I do love a nice church. I can appreciate the architecture and history.
They are part of our landscape, and have been for centuries.
Anyone who sees fit to destroy one is a ****, whoever they are, however they think.
It's a sad state of affairs, I fucking despair at times.

British Churches for British people....most of whom can't be arsed with the horror that is organised religion. Not sure why setting fire to mainly stone buildings is a buzz for some (other than the potential for financial gain when the apartment block goes up). I imagine it gets quite complicated if there's a graveyard within the church grounds.

Do any of these churches reside on land that, say, would be extremely profitable from sky-scraping apartment blocks being built on?
strangely enough, doesn't happen that much at all...some conversions ino flats, but selling to a developer...no. Its all about land owning with the Church, cos ' god aint making any more of it"
