The tide has turned in most places in the world now although the US still carries this out at a higher percentage than just about anywhere else (Although those rates are surprisingly falling). I had the snip snip done and initially pushed for it with my son until I really looked deeper into the procedure - I simply hadn't really questioned it, this is largely due to what was learned in medical school. It's rarely done here in Switzerland and in the end I am satisfied that we did not do this for our son
