City’s New Kits

Personally I've never minded too much if we have dark blue, light blue or white socks (or blue shorts!!) it's how the players wearing them actually play. As you say though looking back through historical kits, especially from the early days City have worn dark blue socks a lot.
Traditional away colours of black/red stripes or maroon as a 2nd kit and white as a third would be my choice (never understood the logic of having a blue away kit).
When the 99 play off kit (as it is referred to)first came out I wasn't keen but as that game still represents the most important result in our history(not the best or most glamorous by any means but the most important) I think a 25 year anniversary one would be appropriate. Maybe some words under the badge saying ' imagine where the fuck we might have ended up being!!!' could be added also!
Good point about Bayern and changing the colours. Maybe to a more extreme extent but Cardiff played in red shirts one season rather than blue (something to do with their Thai sponsors?) Whilst I seem to remember some years ago that Millwall deciding to play in white rather than blue(?)
My first pair of City socks, had maroon hoops on them. So for nostalgia reasons, I wouldn't mind maroon being on the first kit socks or included in any 2nd or 3rd strips.
Cardiff City changed their kit from blue to red, because the Malaysian owner (Vincent Tan) thought red was a "lucky colour" ?
He also changed the club badge and installed red seats in the new main stand extension...

You're a wrong'un

Navy socks = class

Name another team that plays in sky blue and white, with dark socks!
Apart from being our traditional home strip, it is unique and as soon as that kit is seen anywhere in the world should be instantly recognised as Manchester City

It does amaze me how supporters of teams such as Bayern Munich tolerate the annual change of home kit colour
Fans of Bayern absolutely don’t tolerate it. They’ve protested numerous times and as a result, the club have promised to only use red and white on home kits from now on.

Some will point out that maroon as only been on our kit a couple of times thoughout our history, but when we've had it on, it's always seemed a lucky omen , last season prime example, and personally for me it's the colours of City , ie Sky blue, white and maroon, just like the classic bar scarfs.

Ha Ha!

I think we all gravitate to the socks we grew up with. My favorites were the sky blue with Umbro diamonds on the turnover, followed by the sky blue with the maroon and white striped turnovers. Navy socks have never felt like traditional City to me.

I’ve seen them all being an FOC
Dark blue, sky blue with maroon and two white hoops. Sky and white turnover. White. White with a sky turnover. sky and white hoops. Sky and navy hoops. Sky with a navy turnover

I absolutely despise white socks. Makes us look soft
Sky blue is OK
Navy is by far and away my preference
