City’s wasted talent

Sancho probably, clearly had the highest profile career after us and would have meant no need for FFS etc, would also have kept the pressure on Raz and either replaced him or challenged him enough to prevent this 18 month drop-off we've had to endure.

Weaver didnt quite hit the heights he promised early in his career. In the back to back promotion seasons he looked like he could go all the way. Unfortunately a loss of form and several injury problems prevented him reaching his full potential. There was some excitement that Weaver and Wright could replicate the Clemence/Shilton rivalry.

Maybe It's the memories of his winner against the Rags and the brilliant volley in the 81 Cup Final replay but Steve Mackenzie maybe?
Know a WBA fan who also thought he was a very decent player. Not sure if he played for anyone else but eventually ended up at Charlton Athletic (complete with a very dodgy 'tache if memory serves me right!)

Some great names being mentioned here.... Paul Moulden anyone..? remember when he could be mentioned without reference to him being the the Guinness Book of Records! (scored 5 million goals one season apparently. I also remember being gutted about Michael Hughes c1991/92. At a time we were under the Reid - Ellis dead-end 'style' of football and crying out for a creative spark, so they sold him for peanuts I think to FC Strasbourg in France and another one got away. Of course, for my generation Paul Lake was THE great loss, what should have been a brilliant career, although quite probably not at City if the talk at the time was true, (Liverpool for a 'massive' £1.5 going towards the new Lego stand or to Oldham along with a couple of others for a dodgy slow winger maybe..?), we really did do some appalling business in those dark days... Colin Hendry anyone...?
