City 10 Huddersfield Town 1

We were at home. Adcock got another hat trick. 6-2.
Or it could be that my memory is playing games with me!!!
Should really remember, it was only a few years ago, wasn’t it?
Nope you was right, it was at home. I really thought it was away. Wow that's stumped me as I could've sworn it was at theirs.
And it was on the Tuesday when I thought it was a Monday.

I'm not doing very well here :)

You have just confused two games 11 months apart.
October 1988 we beat Plymouth away 6-3 in the League Cup.
The game was scheduled for the Tuesday but I was on the supporters club coach traveling down to the game and it got called off when we reached Taunton due to torrential rain.
Couldn’t make the game played the next day when we won as above.
I was then on the coach to Plymouth again for the 2nd Division game 3 days later, on the Saturday. And we had been away at Ipswich the previous Saturday!

I knew we'd beat them 6-3 away.
I thought I was losing the plot for a second there.
Thanks for that. ;)

I was at Plymouth 3 days later 1-0 win Gayle with a header,I think.

Fairly sure that the Plymouth game was at Maine Road. Full members cup game and only the main stand and kippax were open

Huddersfield was the only home match I missed all season. Didn’t know whether to laugh or cry when I heard the result
Yeah was at Maine Road that one. I remember that more than the Huddersfield game for some reason.

Got home from a month long trip to Japan during the night. Totally jet lagged and knackered from a great time there, decided not to bother with going to the game.

Pre mobile days natch, and was just going to get in bed and mate calls our home phone from the local. 'Don't be a soft twat, I've got you a pint, get your arse in gear' ... Thankfully I did.

I did all 3 and the turn back on the Tuesday. Think you got a letter or something of swales as well as a thank you! Might be in the loft

Nope, Shearer missed two good chances early on.
Yes, am certain started very sluggishly and 'Uddersfield could/should have gone ahead.
Did HTFC play in the Wilson's Brewery yellow & black check shirt ?
Also, did Andy May score their goal ?
Seemed to get drawn against this team a few times in Cups, around a similar time ?
