City 3 - 1 Barcelona - Post match thread :-)

I maybe old-fashioned but derbies mean a lot to me. I lived off the 5-1 for years, I dispaired during that long run till the next victory and the even longer run without a win at the old toilet the 5-0 hurt a lot. The 6-1 was just glorious and made all the difference in that first premier league title. The scum aren't relevant anymore? Maybe but beating them is.

Agreed ...anyone spouting nonsense about it not being important to beat those twats needs a good hearty kick in the bollocks to return to reality. Red twats.

Sensational performance tonight all round. Masterstroke from PG reading the game and getting KDB more involved centrally - everything that was good came after that alteration.

And I had a wait a long time to first see us beat them and remember full well when it was our most important game of the season, unless we were in a relegation scrap.

We weren't relevant to them at that point and they're not relevant to us now.

Superb performance
3-1 flattered them
After a few recent iffy moments I think John Stones tonight proved what a player he is. Against that forward line he was immense. What a player this lad is going to be for us

3-1 from 0-1 down. Feels good to finally show them the Manchester City style.
Had a lot of bad luck against them in the past and the ref was terrible tonight (pen, letting them foul like Stoke) but at least he didn't give us a red. Extremely harsh to find ourselves a goal down and looking a bit shaky but our great pressing forced the error and Ilkay scores a sublime passing goal. From then on we were the much better team: defending resolutely, pressing and breaking dangerously. Should be a lot of contenders tonight but I'll say Kevin motm. A gem of an attacking player, brilliant free kick, perfect pass to set up Gündoğan's 2nd (in a row!) and much more.
The whole team was amazing ever since we scored in one of the best wins I've seen.

I got to ground at 7.30, absolutely massive queues. Thought I'd miss the start, and then got to my turnstile and walked straight in.

Noticed there were quite a few empty seats in the Barca end. very strange game. Our equaliser turned it around. At 0-1 we looked nowhere near them. 2nd half we were amazing and could have had more.

I sit in front row and I was really struck by how lazy messi was. I am sure he was never like that before. he literally walks while the rest of his team runs.

Incredibly nervous 2nd half even at 3-1.

As I walked home I was reminded of walking out of maine rd many years ago after yet another defeat. past the Sherwood and that mad dog. Hope was beginning to fade. Within a few years though that loyalty was to begin to be rewarded. Thank you to all the City fans whose friendship and loyalty kept me blue and helped me to witness QPR and nights like these.

I hope the new fans really appreciate the good times.

With that shit ref and when Messi scored I admit I thought groundhog day........some fucking result and to be honest without all our fuck ups at their place we would have got something there.

Before the red card we had more attempts on goal than Barca if I remembered correctly. 11 v 11 we can go toe to toe

He made a few mistakes. Both defences did. 2nd half though we were magnificent. Once we got a goal ahead we repeatedly pinched the ball in midfield and in defence and released our attacking players. Could have been a bigger win.
