also again not a rant, just a more expanded explanation
I think there's a clear demand of a platform like twitter that's free of right wing ideologies. The right already has truth social and X and the left doesn't want to converse with them.
I mean I don't know if you know but women and men don't want to date people with different political leanings than them. And there's a good deal of incels on the right that're just too toxic towards the left and just others in general.
It's like we live in 2 different worlds and blue sky or another app could flourish there!
Take a breath and calm down.it isn't a rant
no anger or malice is written no by definition not a rant, it is a detailed response, sorry I know in the modern age people prefer short simple anwers with little infomation involved
you're an odd sauage sir, you seem to see something I don't about my I am chillig drinking beer watching netflix calm as can be, knowing this thread is no more than a folly to go on to pass the time.Take a breath and calm down.
There’s only so many times you can repeat this. It’s nothing to do with the inability to deal with a differing opinion, it’s not wanting it shouted at you 24/7, without the ability to converse properly.A lot of people mistaking the move to bluesky as just political but that's not the only decent reason.
- Bots not filling feeds.
- Actual conversations between people.
- More communities, groups of academics, hobbyists able to connect easier. Importantly also easier to ignore certain communities.
- Algorithms not throttling traffic, people posting external links (a lot of our City podcast creators) not punished for redirecting traffic.
- Next to no engagement bait due to people getting paid for tweets.
Not lining Musk's pockets is just an added bonus.
Again and I say this a lot as my own personal opinion, most of this is a polarised american veiw of society that unfortunately the UK has drifted to believe.
The need to tag everyone as x, y or z, the if you disagree with me on anything you are automatically my enemy, Having lived out of the west for 3-4 years in my 20s the world outside our bubble is radically different yet we assume everyone follows the leader of the free worlds bullshit. their manrra of liberal left or alt right bollocks that has also infested these shores is not the global norm.
We actually live in many different worlds globally, that is true, left right is umimportants to most, and we also have americanised bullshit and everywhere else, we chose the batshit one to follow

I think all platforms probably start that way, but as soon as the numbers using them become significant the corporate and political interests move in.A lot of people mistaking the move to bluesky as just political but that's not the only decent reason.

You seem to be passing the time rather a lot sir.you're an odd sauage sir, you seem to see something I don't about my I am chillig drinking beer watching netflix calm as can be, knowing this thread is no more than a folly to go on to pass the time.
If you’re in a pub and you’ve got two groups you could join, one is debating courteously and the other is threatening to fight everybody, most people would join the former group.Pretty much. Outside of social media we tend to associate with people we have something in common with, go to places where we feel comfortable, and read and watch media that we enjoy. We don’t frequent places or with people that make us constantly uncomfortable through behaviour or words and social media is no different.
If a social media platform is toxic for an individual then seeking out an environment they can enjoy is common sense and often essential for a persons well being. It’s like being in an abusive relationship. There is no upside in tolerating it.
I was brough up that it was polite to always answer when spoken to, so I always answer if replies to out of respect for my fellow poster. You seem to be passing the time rather a lot sir.

I do wonder if a lot of vehemently anti trump folk were inadvertently shaping their own X feeds by constantly discussing him. A bit like when folk on here complain all they ever see in the ad banners are ads for plastic horses cocks and anal beads.

Really happy if no one ever replies to me and and don't have to answer then ;-)
It'll be a cesspit of different political opinions. Like the Guardian. Same kind of cesspit as the Mail, just a Leftie cesspit as opposed to a Rightie cesspit. I tend to just scroll past the stuff I don't like. It's like steering clear of Odd Topic on here. No point leaving the forum just because of one bit, just ignore the bit you don't like.Does anybody really think blue sky will end up being any less of a cesspit than twitter? I suppose it's one way of voting with your feet re musk, but it will end up just the same - hate and echo chambers fuelled by idiots.
A bit like the politics forum, you mean. There’s only so many times you can repeat this. It’s nothing to do with the inability to deal with a differing opinion, it’s not wanting it shouted at you 24/7, without the ability to converse properly.
That’s far better than Twitter.A bit like the politics forum, you mean.
Not a chance. That’s far better than Twitter.
