There will be more sectarian bullshit tomorrow from the small minded idiots in our own crowd who think it makes them look hard to sing 'No Surrender to the IRA', which is more of a far right/ England song and definitely has fuck all to do with City. I understand where your coming from Ricster and some stuff is idiotic and not neccessary....but where do we draw the line....the Tevez song about his new face when he was at rags didnt offend some people but did others.

What will happen in the end is that we will become sanitised and sterile in the song department.

Songs about O'shea being gay were taken in good humour by himself (derby day at ragsville last season) but offend others....so should they be banned.

All we will be left with bluemoon and best team in the land chants.

Im not after a ban Bill but an apology is in order i feel. As i have argued on here i dont condone censorship but neither do i condone yobish behaviour or racist language.

I do however feel very strongly that we as fans are already over police and guilty by association, as football fans and that the people advocating bans, more censorship on here need to be very careful what they wish for.

Please dont ban the guy, a pm in his ear is all i ask.

I did not call for a ban, and for your info he was banned by Bill for a clear breach of the C of C of this board, something i would have thought you would be all for, after all you was quick enough to give me a warning the other week.

Very easy, after the fact, to claim you weren't after a ban. Initially what you did was report his post, which left the decision of whether or not he was banned/warned/reprimanded to the moderators. The action of reporting a post indicates to the moderators that you feel it's inappropriate and you want action taking, you can't wait for someone to be banned on the back of your report and then claim "I only wanted an apology" and expect it to carry much water.

The Hillsborough chants are minimal and I've been at OT for virtually all our home games with the scum since 1988, there was one game a few years back where is got a bit rowdy with them signing m***** songs and utd responded with hillsboro songs (shit bags all round if you ask me) but besides that I've never heard it.
On the other side just take a look at this post, loads of you gloating about m***** and the chants at derbies have been disgraceful (btw I'm not bothered, I expect it, but I'm sure the families of the people involved would be) in the past.

Go on any utd forum and see if hillsboro is mentioned in a nasty shitbag (hide behind my monitor) way and you won't (maybe the odd mention but they get shot down IMMEDIATELY)

As i've said previously I don't expect hugs all round, just a bit of decency....mocking the dead, who were probably part of your grandads lives is fucked up

It seems to me this thread contains a huge number of people defending the rights of City fans to chant whatever they want, yet no-one seems able to explain, other than "free speech" and "we've done it for decades", why they make chants about M*nich in the first place. So many ways to antagonise rags, why the need to use the deaths of several people 51 years ago?

Also what I find ironic is the same people who claim calls for M*nich chanters to be banned are puritanical and wrong are the same people who, at the earliest opportunity, called for a fellow Bluemoon member to be banned/repremanded based on something he said that they disagreed with, and then gloated about it afterwards.
