not that I think he's a bad player, but with Tevez and SWP on the right of the front 3 I can't see him getting many games. And I don't want the progress of Weiss to be disrupted either.
 
My sentiments towards this "player" was nicely summarized in todays Guardian Rumour Mill:
Manchester City have "made a surprise move for David Bentley" after closing their eyes and randomly jabbing a pencil down on page in the current directory of overpriced but potentially available disappointing English players.

To be fair, I think it's paper's randomly creating stories without any basis in reality...

Very, very simple this one.

Twitcher has said that Spurs have to sell before they can buy.

Bentley is one of the players he has already stated have no future at the club, yet he paid 20 odd million for him.

Who is spending money the kind of money that would allow them to re-coup the largest percentage of their outlay ?

Who has a manager with which he has already worked ?

It. Is. Twitcher. Getting. His. Bumchums. In. The. Press. To. Fish. For. Him.

I don't like the smarmy get either. Maybe the slap he got in the restaurant might have made him think he want to come back "Oop North"...?

Or maybe that's what the papers think?

Have you considered this could be the case?

I'd guess he will be a squad player next season and may not want to do that.

Bentley would be a decent squad player if they can get him at a reasonable price.
 
We don't need him & we certainly don't need to be giving money to the likes of Spurs to strengthen their squads
