I do agree that the Brugges coach very likely knew his side were going through and hence they didn't gamble in the last 10 minutes.
What happened in 115 last night. Never heard you once. You go in 115 you sing. I assume no one joined in? There were loads of fans around me screaming but no group together to get it going. Last night shows why we need an end but it looked like it was drowned out by irregulars who didn't know the songs.i was disappointed in the City crowd. No keep ball Ole’s!
That keep ball 15 minutes must have been shit to watch on TV.
What's more worrying about the OP is his decision to single out the word "qualified" to be the only one without a capital letter.OP is sure UEFA will charge both clubs? What they gonna say to Brugge? 'How come you didn't score 2 goals in 10 minutes against Man City away? That proves you sold the game!' And to us? 'Man City you should've lost!'
You're a crazy man OP.
Bruge were going through in 24th unless Dinamo Zagreb scored 3 goals in the last 10 mins.I do agree that the Brugges coach very likely knew his side were going through and hence they didn't gamble in the last 10 minutes.
Them getting a draw would've knocked us out.Bruge were going through in 24th unless Dinamo Zagreb scored 3 goals in the last 10 mins.
Them trying to salvage a draw at 3-1 down would have rewarded them with Real or Bayern in the Play-Offs instead of Atalanta/Dortmund... ie what they had settled for.
No. We ended up a point behind Celtic who were the team directly above us.If we’d have scored another, would that have changed who we got in the playoffs?
Cheers. Glad it wasn’t an Alan Ball cock upNo. We ended up a point behind Celtic who were the team directly above us.
At that point I think they just wanted the best draw for them in the next round rather than the clout for knocking us out. They had that luxury as well whereas we didn't.Them getting a draw would've knocked us out.
Coventry City v Bristol City in 1977 - drew 2-2 and both stayed up at the expense of Sunderland. You sometimes see this happen at the Euros or WC in a 3 game group. It's happened before on the final day of the season where a draw has been good enough for 2 relegation threatened opponents to both stay up.
Either they've known it going into the game or they've realised it during the last 20-30 mins with scorelines elsewhere impacting the game as it did tonight.
just let that sink in when you think back to jack playing quick free kick in last few minutes at 3-2 up against feyenoord who was running us raggedNo. We ended up a point behind Celtic who were the team directly above us.

The accusations were that Cov had the game delayed due to congestion at the turnstiles so the Everton - Sunderland game finished 15 mins before the game at Highfield Road. Hill instructed the score (Everton won 2-0) be shown on the big screen so the players on both sides knew that 2-2 kept both sides up. The final 10 mins was a farce.
Sunderland fans to this day hold a grudge against Jimmy the chin HillI only learnt of this because of that Football Cop show that was on Channel 4 last year (all videos on youtube now)
Could have quite easy been us scoring 2 more and Zagreb getting 1 more too, so not implausible they went out either.Bruge were going through in 24th unless Dinamo Zagreb scored 3 goals in the last 10 mins.

Depends. Are they rainbow laces?Thinking of starting a thread on whether to tie a single or double knot in my shoelaces when I go out later.
There's just a feeling though on the pitch between both sets of players plus whatever may have been communicated from the sideline to 'wind it down'.Could have quite easy been us scoring 2 more and Zagreb getting 1 more too, so not implausible they went out either.
Brugge coach probably just told them to sit in their half and settle, let us pass it about and we had no positional incentive to try and score again. There's just a feeling though on the pitch between both sets of players plus whatever may have been communicated from the sideline to 'wind it down'.
