City and FFP article

Is this website by that rag who goes on dannys kellys show on talkshite?

If it is he is one bitter bastard to us.

Does anyone in control of their faculties seriously think that our owners are going to leave anything to chance when it comes to FFP.

The era of newsagents and record wholesalers running our club are a thing of the past. We will comply with FFP because we are owned by winners. How can anyone who's followed the evolution of our football club over the last four seasons arrive at any other conclusion?

Seriously, this isn't The Theatre of Base Comedy anymore. This is Manchester City. Potentially the biggest global sporting entity on the planet.

City are now massive. It's official.

These articles must be taken with a large pinch of salt. A lot of speculation and straw clutching from those who want us to fail. Also we do have to be a little wary even though we look to have this under control.

his figures are just bullshit

first off he doesnt breakdown income from transfers. is that just income (just sales?) or is it net income (sales - player purchases) or is it smething else. just how does he get a profit of 4.9 million for the season just gone?

secondly he lists the nike deal as giving us no income at all. this makes no sense. I know the announcement was not clear as to when the deal with umbro ends and the nike one starts but we would get income from on of them every year.

thirdly his commercial growth figures are plucked from up his arse. he guesses at 25% but we started at such a low base that 50% next year would be acheivable (especially after winning the league) and the year just gone it could be as high as 30%. These two facts alone would give us an extra 30 million.

fourthly his match day figures are laughable. he has a rise of under 2 million. does he realise that while our season ticket prices only rose 5% we also sold lots of platinum membership that adds another 10% to the price thats about 1.4 million on its own (based on half our 36,000 season tickets going platinum). In addition our average attendance rose by 1200, which is another 700,000. Then you have to look at the rise in the cost of executive seating, especially for champs league games, city have not released these figures but they are going to be higher than last year. Overall i would be surprised if it wasnt closer to 5 million in total for 2011/12 and a further increase for 2012/13.

The slimy fat French bastard hates us he won't give up.
I haven't bothered reading the blog, doesn't seem much point I know what will be in it anyway.

"The slimy fat French bastard" will give up once the sponsors of the CL tell him that not having the English Champions in his flagship money maker, means they won't pay up the full amount as it devalues the competition. He'll have to because that will reduce the income of the rest of the european "super" clubs, something none of them can afford.

Not having the english champions in the CL would be a disaster for UEFA, so I expect lots of moaning and groaning, and a reluctant, "it'll not be allowed to happen again (well apart from PSG obviously)".

1. Assumes amortisation goes up despite not signing anyone in fact it would go down as players sign new contracts or leave i.e Adebayor £5m alone.
2. Has our TV income drop despite our much higher worldwide exposure.
3. Thinks we will only increase gate receipts by 10% (season ticket increase is what?)
4. No allowance for merchandising sales from all our new fans.
5. Doesnt include stadium lease charge as a FFP deductable
6. Invents a £17.6 player bonus for winning the league (doubt its that much)
7. Has no wage reduction for all the players we had out on loan last year.
8. Includes Wayne Bridge, Roque Santa-Cruz and Craig Bellamy when they have been written off in last years accounts.
9. Has no figure in the year after next year for pre June 2010 contracts i.e what happened to Tevez £10m per year? If we sold him where is the income?

Cant be arsed reading any more

He's just a little on the BITTER side, then?

I think the UEFA sanction of banning a club from a competition would be reserved for the most extreme of cases, even if somehow we didn't pass a certain requirement we would probably get a warning or some prize money withheld that's all (I know that sounds ridiculous coming from the corrupt organization who fined us more for arriving late than racist chants)

Impressive. Just shows there are so many different takes on the rules and figures. What a mess!
