Did you not notice the two players stood 10 yards away because of it? You're sacrificing 1 player around the box to draw out 2 opposition players from the congested box. It's about the only thing from our set pieces that does make sense.

and what them two players did was stand too close so more minutes wasted waiting for them to retreat to correct distance all great when winning but chasing the game just playing into their hands

Not sure what is going on with the defense this season.

I would have thought a new defensive coach would be a priority.

The players playing poorly in defense, are Title winners and have been assured in previous seasons.Now they look all over the show.

Even in the games we have won there have been terrible defensive lapses.

Number 1: Just have one of KDB or Phil taking the corner so that the other might have a chance of shooting or crossing the ball if it falls on the left/right of the box (like on Saturday............)

Didn’t we score the most last season? Wouldn’t know the stats but did we ever score that many from corners. Maybe we got excited because we had a corner, more than from any expectation. Now we have loads.

Automatic ten grand fine for the taker if a corner hits the first man would improve the situation especially given that it happens about five times a game

It’s partly down to Dias’ form plummeting, partly due to injuries and partly due to having less control in games as we’ve one fewer midfielder on the pitch.

We need Kyle fit and firing again and we need Ake, our best defender this calendar year, to be in the team every week

Worth noting our set pieces have improved considerably in recent times, we no longer just repeatedly aim for the first man and miss more often than not from corners. Have to assume the new set piece coach is at the core of the improvements.

Definitely improved over that few months
