City are set to promote Denayer, Lopes, and Iheanacho

And with all 3 being under 21 we don't need to register them in the squad

Yes, but we have to register 4 home grown and 4 club-trained players, so we may be forced to register them just to meet the quota.

We don't have to register them we can register a maximum of 17 none hg players and 8 hg 4 of which would have to be club trained so in reality we could register 21 players and none would have to be club trained.

We don't have to have homegrown players, it just limits our squad if we don't.

it's almost as if there's actually people out there that haven't played football manager...

The last time I played FM was about 2011-12. I'm pretty sure that the game forced you to declare 25 players back in that version.

I think that history will show that our current youth development policy is at the forefront of the European game. I'm very much enjoying the way that the EDS and other youth teams are integrating with the squad more, and have become much more publicly accessible through the new campus.

As the Dennis Suarez transfer shows, it is very difficult to know at this stage which, if any, of the current crop will make it to the top of the game. I've no idea how these lads will cope with the step up, but If one of these three cement a place in the squad next season and the team thereafter it is big feather in the cap of the academy staff. And of course others will be sold on, which is part of making the system economically viable.

It is such an exciting time at city. Everything is coming together.

It's the ability to compare the current crop with someone like Suarez, who lives in recent memory, which makes it even more promising. Many of these lads are well ahead of him in almost every aspect of the game. If he can get a living in football, then so can they, & some may well do it at City.
