City are the neutrals' favourites

My view point, when I've spoke to fans of other clubs. Other fans seem to think your average City fan is decent. Unlikely to hang a flag from his window or tell you all about how amazing City are.

If we win the league, I will scream shout, get arseholed and love it sunday. Perhaps rub a few rags up the wrong way. Come Monday, I'll be hungover and be looking forwards to my holidays.

I won't want to rub every football fan I meets nose in it, I won't be wearing my Champions 14 shirt on the beach.

I also get the feeling hat most fans like and respect our players.

Compare Kompany, YA YA & Aguero to Rooney, Wio & Family man, or Suarez, Gerrard & Sturridge. Of a Terry & Cole. Drogba before them. It's not hard to understand why our players are more liked than a bunch of odious twats.

as a neutral the money issue is only there if you wish it to be. never heard liverpool moaning after numerous takeovers as they felt it would return them to their righteous place in their eyes. only 2 years ago they were all cheering aguero on when his goal deprived united of the title. now your the worst thing to happen to world football. all clubs and fans would love to be in the position your in and most would not give a flying fcuk how they achieved it.

The best description I read in a blog was that City were like your poor unlucky hard working neighbour who suddenly found themselves being left 20m by a long list relative where as Chelsea were like your unemployed chav neighbour who won 20m on the national lottery and our behaviour as been how you would expect in those situations

Most arsenal fans don't wish us well

Feck them
They are too busy moaning about our money, while at the same time hoping that the Uzbeki mafia boss buys out their team and spends a load of money

You get to know fans of a lot of random clubs living in the US (all tend to have to share the same pubs, etc.)

I precisely zero neutrals that seem to favour the dippers over us. Northerners, southerners, rags, everyone. All seem to find that lot to be as insufferable as we do.

Chomps helps them not at all, of course, in the court of expat public opinion. He alone seems to inspire an immense amount of distaste. But everyone I ever talk to just loves Toure and Silva.

The troll kind who pop up on forums are usually 17 year old armchair casual football followers who think football is played on the internet. The kind of goons who call teams "notlob" and "Chavski". When you meet proper football fans they are almost always different. I would say over the last few years 95% of the fans of other clubs I've chatted to, and it's been a lot, say "I've always liked city, at least you're not united, I wish we had your money", or words to that effect.

I can't really remember one who wasn't like that in fact.

You have to remember that a lot of the crap we get is pure jealousy, there is not a real football fan in this country who would not have loved their club being in the same position as us, despite the transparent denials (remember the scenes of joy when Liverpool fans thought they were going to get taken over by Dubai)

No doubt about that, mate. There is no bigger hypocrite than your average loudmouth football fan. I always laugh a bit inside at that comedy sentiment "I wouldn't want the money". As if.

Let me categorically assure any lurking jealous troll that I followed city around the country when we were skint underachievers for 30 years, and I've had 4 years where we've been good. And being good, and going to wembley, and Barcelona, and having butterflies in your stomach for a game like Sunday's, is a million times better.

These balloons talking about "soul" make me laugh, too. Made up shite to hide their jealousy. Same as the guy who's neighbour comes home and parks his Ferrari next to his Mondeo, so he says "bet it costs a fortune to run" through gritted teeth.

According to many Liverpool fans we have got no soul, what the hell is that meant to mean?

It means that the Cavern Club is still open but the Hycienda is closed. (i think)

It means precisely nothing.

If I've got an ugly wife, and you have a beautiful one, and I'm jealous, I might say to my mates "Well at least my wife has a personality", when the truth is that it's pretty damn likely that my wife is a bit dull and bitter, as well as being ugly.

They are the ones on RAWK saying we are pricks and then in the same sentence saying we are a small club, Arab money, mercenaries etc. They don't even realise how bitter they are. Hope we finish the job because if Liverpool win it from here we will have let the whole country down.

There was somebody on there who wrote that they were technically champions because we have bought the league, some of them on there are unbelievable.
Heard plenty of Rags come out with that one as well tbf.

Most successful club in England over the last 4 years.
Ask them how it feels spending £83m on transfers and still dropping from 1st to 7th because all their decent players are now past it and the only manager to bring them any success in the last 40 years has gone.

Ask him what it felt like to lose 3-0 at home in the derby to a City team which cost less than theirs.

Ask him how it feels getting hammered 6-0, 4-1 and 3-0 by your city rivals when they're supposed to be a world class team.

Hi fellas, neutral Evertonian here and first time (ever) poster!
Firstly, good luck on Sunday as I for one (of most of the country) hope you go on to win it. Don't take all the negative press and bias media coverage so personally . We've had to put up with it for years, the only difference being the darlings of the british media like selling our players for us whenever we get too big for our boots! City don't have to put up with this crap anymore as you are definitely a buying club but I'm sure it's happened in the past.
Chelsea had to put up with the jealousy for years but have now been accepted as one of the big boys so have been given a pass. Win the league a few more times and it won't be a money issue anymore. It'll just be the fact you keep winning the bleeding thing.
I've always found it quite ironic that other fans moan about the Arab squillionaires pumping endless money into "that citeh". Because apart from the obvious enjoyment of seeing your team being successful , we still live in the same houses, drive the same car and pick up the same shitty wages each week ! We all secretly yearn for a mega rich takeover but if one doesn't come along we carry on supporting our teams regardless like we always have done. Unfortunately most fans judgement is clouded by past success (or delusions of success) and can be quite petty.
So just enjoy everyone and don't go winning that champions league thing next year or peoples heads will begin to spontaneously explode (in certain areas of the country).

Good luck boys (and girls)

Tell him it feels fucking wonderful, and then wonder why you give a fuck what a swamp donkey thinks anyway!!

It is kind of surprising that we remain the neutrals favourite seeing that most people would usually support the mid-table team who used to be a major force in the game and who are having a surprisingly good season. The thinking is normally 'It's just nice to see the usual suspects being challenged by a side no one expects to be there'; examples in the last 20-25 years including Leeds United, Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers, Newcastle United. Perhaps we should applaud the season they have had before they sell their best players to stronger sides like Stoke and West Ham and return to the obscurity in which they feel most comfortable.

Ask them what it's like to have the highest paid player in the Premiership pimping himself out to his fiercest local rivals to double his wages, yet still win fuck all and miss out on Champions League football?
Or paying more for some **** who looks like an explosion in a prosthetic limb factory than we paid for Silva or Aguero.
Or having an overdraft the size of a small country?

People aren't stupid. They can see a stitch up when it's right in front of them, and they can see hypocritical whingeing too. Fans loathe the sense of entitlement in the elite, and the smug arrogance over years on end. City are still the upstarts who have ruined their party, and they quite like that, and just wish it had happened to them. If City are dominant over years on end, then that will undoubtedly change. But one of the ironies about the whole situation (and quite a few have noticed this) is that it is City fans who are raising their objections about the closed shop and how it affects them, and that it's simply wrong. Quite a few have mentioned in various places that Arsenal, United and Liverpool fans didn't give a stuff about the lack of a level playing field 10 years ago, and their bleating now is just self-serving.
