Roy Keane likes this post !!I would agree with that. Everything we hated about United and their fans in the 1990s, we're becoming.....unfortunately. Prawn sandwich anyone?
Exactly right about partners - they are not keeping their side of the bargain - fans argument is keep prices affordable and we’ll fill the ground. But the extra rules and threats will destroy that.Absolutely spot on. It’s the inconsistency and hypocrisy that stinks the most, and what winds people up the most.
Everyone knows tickets get passed around between branches at face value, and the club quietly turns a blind eye to it. Why? Because it suits them. But when it’s ordinary fans doing the exact same thing through Facebook groups or forums, suddenly it’s treated like a criminal offence. The double standards tells you everything about where the club’s priorities really lie. There isn't any fairness or consistency for the supporters.
And you’re absolutely bang on, they fought the APT rules because it benefitted directors and their interests, but when it comes to pushing back on rules that hammer ordinary fans, suddenly their hands are tied? It shows they can fight when they want to, but they just choose not to.
The reality is, the club doesn’t see us as partners anymore, we’re seen as customers to be managed. That’s the culture shift we’re up against with the Club. But City isn’t just a brand, it’s our community. And if they think they can pick and choose which rules to fight depending on who gains, then it’s on us to keep calling it out until they’re forced to treat fans with the same respect they treat their boardroom.
When away fans end up in the South Stand and trouble breaks out, it’s not the club or the resellers who pay the price, it’s the regular, local, match going Blue who risks losing his season ticket. It's almost as if this is what the club want half of the time.
Correct.
Because after well over decade of unrivalled success by any other PL club, the Etihad should be full of local fans, never mind additional and new fans from abroad, including football tourists.
But over the last few years the directors have systematically degraded and done away with a large percentage of our local support through their new and draconian ticketing and ticket selling policy, favouring City fans and football tourists who will spend more in the club shop and in the ground.
Fucking hell ha ha hawhen they dropped the FC from the badge it was only a matter of time
Fucking hell you would think there are 50 thousand tourists here for every game going off here...This is where I struggle too. The owners have been so good for the club and they repeatedly tell us how much the local support means, blah, blah fucking blah. Then, locals are absolutely priced out of games to the point (surely they have to be) tourists in City shirts are filming spurs players celebrating a goal?
Someone at the very top level needs to have a good look at this, I understand the need for the business to be profitable, but there has to be a better way than a sterile stadium full of tourists with an ever diminishing atmosphere?
I dont think it will, but something has to change. It doesn't effect me anymore as I no longer live in Manchester, but I'm fuming for those it does effect.
It's what suits themNot a pop at the Osc here but I am sure club are turning a blind eye when spares get transferred between members of different branches at face value. So there’s no consistency in club’s approach. They challenged APT rules even though that was a premier league rule - they are happy to challenge something which benefits directors but not happy to challenge something that benefits fans.
What would you praise about their handling of tickets? Was you at Spurs? Does the circus that followed with people trying to get in need praising? The turnstiles which will 100% be facial recognition next season, does that need praising? The inability to simply pass a friend or family member your ticket, does that need praising? Singling out fans who have sold their tickets, at face value and punish them for doing so, does that need praising? Bringing in new rules and regulations to ensure we sell our tickets back to city, at a fraction of the cost, so they can sell it via a partner at an inflated price, resulting in away fans sitting next to you at games, does that need praising. Praise is given when it is due, the way the club runs itself and treats its fans means they rightly get criticised and I am glad fans speak up, even during our glory years to say so and highlight this, rather than have your wanker view on it.Feels like the honeymoon period is now well and truly over for our owners.
Out with the praise and in with the critics.
Guess it’s the nature of society these days.
My uncle a mad red said to me after the take over, you will become like us one day. I said not a chance - family club, local supporters, etc. How wrong was I.I would agree with that. Everything we hated about United and their fans in the 1990s, we're becoming.....unfortunately. Prawn sandwich anyone?
It'll be fine.
The new hotel complex will be cheaper than Travelodge to make up for this....
There's a billion+ people in China. Organized tours of Western countries which will include tickets to football matches. The club doesn't care if an actual City fan is in the seat. They'd probably prefer men and women paying over face value for the tickets.Posted about this yesterday. What the fuck are they playing at. So we could basically have empty seats if seasoncard card holders are banned from selling them. Whoever is behind this is a ****. I'm fairly sure people in the department will be reading these post so ffs try talking said **** out of it.
But the short sighted thinking with this is that City will continue its appeal and generate these new fans. The stadium isn't full consistently with our hardcore support. You take the hardcore support away slowly and you are solely relying on these tourists every week. That surely has an impact on potential sponsorships moving forwards. You are right in what you are saying and I know that is the clubs view on it, but how terribly shortsighted is it,There's a billion+ people in China. These individuals will purchase shirts, scarves, and other tat from the club shop on match day. It doesn't matter a tinker's damn to the people running City that these same people were at Newcastle/Spurs/the rags, etc. the day or week before buying loads of merchandise and filming the whole game instead of watching it like a normal fan would do. They want money, long standing fans be damned.
Wow. Just, wow.Maybe the management of the club - yes you Danny Wilson - should stop acting like utter wankers then?

I am not defending the club's actions. And if I recall correctly, one of the things that drew Shiekh Mansour to City over other clubs he was looking at purchasing was the extreme passion and loyalty of it's fans. But the short sighted thinking with this is that City will continue its appeal and generate these new fans. Oh I know you aren't defending it. You stated the clubs thoughts on this which are correct. It is a joke mate, it will slap them in the face in the long run.I am not defending the club's actions. And now, some decision maker at the club could not care less about these fans because someone from somewhere else will pay £100, or more, for a one off ticket.
Respect her footballing efforts but I have an enormous issue with her because of the way she treated my daughter.I could watch Alex Greenwood all night.
