City attacking face value sites - cultural war on supporters ?

The problem is, City haven’t got 60,000 returning customers, even after well over a decade of trophy success, and some of the best managers and players in the world, propped up by the tourist and glory hunting influx. City couldn’t sell out the 52,000 Etihad stadium last season after a slight dip in form, so what chance have City got of selling out a 61,000 Etihad stadium next year, the answer is, no fucking chance! Just wait until the less glamorous CL and FA Cup games are played at the new 61,000 Etihad stadium next year.
They're not interested in selling out as they can make more money from selling 48k at £50 a pop than a full house at £30

Then fans should stop complaining.
That’s a ridiculous comment - back in the good old /dark days there has been mention of a boycott plenty of times - The Swales out days , the Franny in days etc etc but it never ever materialises - the biggest issue is the loyalty of the fans who somehow feel they are letting the team and the players down - I’ve been to many meetings in the past with you Phil to try and effect change , whether it was resigning from the Official Supporters club and creating the CSA , the Fanzine movement questioning the club etc etc so it’s very harsh to say stop complaining in my opinion

What is bothering me is that the OSC don’t seem to be making any statements on this either way.
Do they support the club or the fans? Do we know what their thoughts are?
Have their members been told about this? Not all City fans read BlueMoon so might not know this is happening?
After all they are supposed to be representing the fans.

I will never put my ticket on the exchange if I cannot go. I sit with close friends, and I do not want to put them in harms way. Tickets returned to the club are being sold by their preferred touting agencies for hundreds of quid, to away fans half the time. I couldn’t look my friends in the face if they got caught up in violence involving a visiting fan sat in my seat, because I allowed the club to tout the ticket to the highest bidder.
Well said..

They will probably give guests a choice of themed room ranging from the rags, Real Madrid or Barcelona bedspreads and curtains.
To be fair the Liverpool themed room is spot on.

It's in the basement. The walls are visible breeze blocks with a piss stained mattress. Dog eared picture of Ian Rush on the wall and a metal dustbin replacing the snack bar.

Not a pop at the Osc here but I am sure club are turning a blind eye when spares get transferred between members of different branches at face value. So there’s no consistency in club’s approach. They challenged APT rules even though that was a premier league rule - they are happy to challenge something which benefits directors but not happy to challenge something that benefits fans.
I agree they're very flexible about which rules to follow.

I'm sure we agree that passing tickets to fellow blues shouldn't be an issue, even if it has to be done via official channels. But the core of the problem is Rule R.16 and we need to put pressure on the clubs and the PL itself to sort this out.

That has made me laugh out loud and that started me coughing..... you do know I'm a sick old woman and you could have wiped me out...... then there would be a prime seat available on the front row. :-)

Just joking about the sick old woman bit. Ancient would be more like it. :-)

There's a billion+ people in China. Organized tours of Western countries which will include tickets to football matches. The club doesn't care if an actual City fan is in the seat. They'd probably prefer men and women paying over face value for the tickets.

These individuals will purchase shirts, scarves, and other tat from the club shop on match day. It doesn't matter a tinker's damn to the people running City that these same people were at Newcastle/Spurs/the rags, etc. the day or week before buying loads of merchandise and filming the whole game instead of watching it like a normal fan would do. They want money, long standing fans be damned.
“The club doesn’t care if an actual city fan is in the seat” until it’s your brother that’s fell on hard times and you’ve gave him your ticket for nothing then you’re getting banned

We need to go in heavy or risk being pushed out even more, if that is even possible.
To hide behind wanting to stop "touting" and to know who is using tickets is laughable when Citys actions is the definition of touting. This also isn't the case for hospitality ticket holders, why is it one rule for one and not for another?

Trying to find even a hint of positivity within this, could it be a soft signal of 115 going well? If they thought it was going to go tits up from the hearing surely they wouldn't push out their loyal fanbase which will keep them going should the worse happen? Probably wishful thinking.

Don't worry mate.

If City do lose 115, and City are either demoted or deducted points which could force relegation, we've got 50,000 diehards who will still stick by the club and follow the team regardless of all the flak, stick and abuse we'll get home and away in the Championship. That still leaves 12,000 empty seats to fill at the Etihad for the home games in the Championship .

Faustian pact

Take what you want and pay for it.

Choose your cliche, they’re all applicable to the terrible situation we now find ourselves in

Has Soriano done more damage to the soul of the club than Swales did. Yeah probably.

SORIANO OUT

Oh no. That is along the lines of what I meant. They don't care. It behooves them financially to have a tourist, and by that I do not mean an actual fan who may be in from Canada, Australia or wherever to see his/her team, but someone who doesn't care and just wants to take selfies and shop at the club shop.
