City attacking face value sites - cultural war on supporters ?

If a Tory government had proposed some of these policies at our club there'd be uproar.
I suggested a boycott of an early CL or League Cup game a few pages ago but as someone else replied “it’ll never happen” and as long as everyone grumbles about it but carry on regardless it will continue….

I did Lyon away.
I was so ill coming back.
I spent all day in bed the next day.

I can't remember the other one.
I got booted out at Schalke after 2 minutes and driven 90 minutes away by OB and told to walk back. We’d been boozing since checking in at Ringway. Fell arse over tit in and onto my seat - escorted straight out. Walked (not in a straight line) back and got in the coach just as Raz scored 89th minute winner.
Never ever again. Do it nice and gentle now, spending my teacher pension pot on the good things in life

Unfortunately boycotting won’t work because at the moment there’s someone there to take your place exactly what city want
I know what your saying bud,, it's just I don't see any other way, I know it's happening at lots of other clubs, but I'm FOC now I suppose and I just remember how it was, and it's now turning into something I am really starting to dislike

Most boycotts occur when the owners/directors turn the team to shit, don't pay players etc. as at Wednesday. It's rarely because the directors shit on the fans directly as far as I'm aware.

Next week in Serbia will be my 100th away with England and I’ve done plenty with City too. Started following England away as no chance of City playing in Europe at the time. Nowadays, it’s an excuse to meet up with mates but I much prefer City for the games.
In all that time, I’ve never done a day trip, it just doesn’t appeal. But it doesn’t have to be expensive. Flying to Cologne for £18 Sunday morning after the Andorra game at Villa Park and having a Sunday session in Dusseldorf. Monday morning we fly to Belgrade from Dortmund for £23. (In case anyone doesn’t know, Cologne, Dusseldorf and Dortmund are all very close. We’ve got an all day train ticket for £12). Belgrade is £50 each per night for 4 star hotel and then back on Wednesday via Dusseldorf for £85. Everything is doable without being a hassle, it just needs some planning and knowledge.

Me and a mate thought we'd be clever once when we played Monchengladbach (bare in mind we'd been on the ale all day and couldn't remember much about how we actually got to the stadium). After the match the City buses were packed and queues were mental. We had a bright idea of walking up the road a bit where we could flag down one of the buses and jib a lift. One by one the buses passed full of Blues, there was no stopping them. Slowly the traffic died down and the streets emptied but at least we knew we were on the right road. We got to a junction just out of town and a copper asked where we were heading. We said Dusseldorf mate. He just laughed, said "are you crazy? OK, turn left here and follow the signs for Neuss, you can maybe get a train from there". We thanked him and asked if Neuss was far? 20km and 6 hours walk through dark lanes and fucking forests we arrived, just after the last train for Dusseldorf left. Faced with another 12km we found a local bar and drowned our sorrows. A legend of a bloke in the bar heard our story and offered us a lift to Dusseldorf, which we gladly accepted.

Never think your cleverer than the masses.

Top notch that. I've got my eyes on 100 away grounds watching City. 9 to go. Bodo Would be great but think I'll miss out on 28k points. Hopefully do it in the next 4/5 years .

This is where I struggle too. The owners have been so good for the club and they repeatedly tell us how much the local support means, blah, blah fucking blah. Then, locals are absolutely priced out of games to the point (surely they have to be) tourists in City shirts are filming spurs players celebrating a goal?

Someone at the very top level needs to have a good look at this, I understand the need for the business to be profitable, but there has to be a better way than a sterile stadium full of tourists with an ever diminishing atmosphere?

I dont think it will, but something has to change. It doesn't effect me anymore as I no longer live in Manchester, but I'm fuming for those it does effect.
Why is there an assumption that if you are Asian you are a tourist and don't support City? They are just as likely to be local as any other fan.

I think it was the smirking and the videoing that were the tourist give aways. Yes the photo has been overused on here but that's another issue
