City away kit at Spurs in 1960?

Here’s another I’ve never seen before if it’s the colour it seems. It’s hard to tell in greyscale but it seems darker than maroon, maybe navy or black?

Unless it’s just the way the picture has come out and it’s just the maroon one?

I was there that day. Don't believe a word of the press/FA saying" it's the pitch" The players were quite happy to play on. It was abandoned because the Referee was knackered.

Does anyone remember a home match v PNE in around 1965 when City played in a change kit of maroon/ white pin stripes, white sleeves and shorts and yellow socks ?

Pics anyone ?
If you go to the Bert Trautman Testimonial thread, the kit that the England select wore was worn by City agin PNE @home in 1965....Maroon & White Pin Stripe Shirt, White Shorts,Yellow Socks.

Can anyone recall any other occasions when this kit combo was worn ?

It was worn often when a kit clash occurred and regularly happened at Maine Road like this one during a March 1967 FA Cup with Ipswich Town

There's footage out there of City's visit to Leeds just a couple of weeks before that game at Spurs:

It's in black-and-white, but Leeds are wearing what must be dark blue shirts (this being before Revie changed their home kit to all white). The commentator refers at the start to City's new away kit of "old gold and black". I assume it must be the same shirt as we wore at Spurs - we surely can't have had two different away kits of similar colours at the same time - but we're wearing black shorts at Elland Road.

It wasn't until the mid-seventies that there was a requirement for the away side to wear different colour shorts to avoid a clash, but we wore white shorts at Spurs. I can only guess that was to avoid a similarity to the very dark blue shorts Spurs were wearing in that game.

Was that Ian Darke's dad on commentary quoting the transfer fee?
Good to see the little kids getting on the pitch with no one getting arsey about it
