City bus scheme for home games - bus tracking (P91)

@matchdaybus Yes, fair play to your quick and honest replies. Working in customer service I can imagine you are just as annoyed this has happened to people. Hopefully you’ll get it sorted.

Quite mad though how the basics aren’t always being met for this.
All the bus driver has to do is turn up at each stop at a set time and smile. Simple.

Yet it seems times are wrong and then the drivers are being an arse about it. Shame.
We are a really small team working on the matchday buses and it massively frustrates us when things go wrong. I will speak to the driver when I get to the stadium about what’s happened this evening. Thanks for understanding and sorry again.
 
It's either late or does not turn up. Last time the bus driver said if you don't like it don't get the bus?
Can I just ask which match this happened at? As it’s different drivers so I want to make sure we know which one?

I'm not sure if it's the same driver tonight but I can confirm that tonight's MC7 driver is an absolute tool. Giving it out to passengers as they are getting on the bus and laughing when questioned about what happened on the way here. The lady with the orange vest was trying her best to calm the situation but the driver had already done the damage by seemingly trying his best to wind up anyone getting on the bus.

On a positive note we took the Macc bus MC8 back after the match and it’s a godsend to avoid the inevitable shambles of Metrolink and the last death train from Piccadilly. It was full too. Thanks for continuing to work to improve the service.

Match Bus 7 is particularly crucial, because if organised and implemented properly it will attract more people from the North Derbyshire/East Cheshire area and subsequently reduce the A6 bottleneck (and that's before the rail replacement buses kick-in next August)

It was fantastic for the Feyenoord game, but didn't turn up for the previous European Tie.

I haven't tried it since, but judging from the comments there still seems to be a 50-50 success rate which is a crying shame as it's a great Idea.

Hello, thank you for sharing your feedback. We completely understand how important this service is, not just for matchday convenience, but also for easing traffic along the A6 and encouraging more sustainable travel from North Derbyshire and East Cheshire.

I am glad to hear that the service worked well for the Feyenoord game, but we’re genuinely sorry about the inconsistency you and others have experienced. We want to provide a reliable service for all supporters travelling to and from the Etihad and the service running successful ‘some of the time’ simply isn’t good enough.

Only to add to what is already known, but we were at the Great Moor stop a good 12 minutes before it was due and when it didnt show, we heard it was already in Levenshulme. 2 of us then had to get a taxi for £18.
This happened twice when Swan were running the show and they did credit us the taxi fare back. Is there any chance that will happen this time?
 
Bus 13 nightmare last night, they closed Broadway off unfortunately the driver went left when he should go right, ended up stuck on some back street, eventually sorted but got to Royton at 2330! Highways need to sort their shit out, single lane on Oldham road for bloody weeks and now this.
 
I agree with a previous post. The driver of no 7 last night was a disgrace (villa game). No apology for leaving most of the bus stranded and when questioned by person in front of me coming back; said I can quite easily walk out now and you can find your own way home. I think he did the initial journey early on purpose. Swans were cheaper, you could book online and they even counted seats before setting off, as they had idea how many attending through online sales.

Hello, I am really sorry you had a long journey home last night, roadworks can be really frustrating!

You will be happy to know that the Lane closure on Oldham Road will reopen on the 28th April so hopefully you have a smoother journey home next time.

When I checked the roadworks along the match day bus routes for last nights fixture, I didn't see anything for Broadway, I have just looked again and can just see scheduled works for this Friday, but still nothing for last night, I am sorry for this. It is possible that they were emergency works as usually the permits for emergency works come in after they have started which is frustrating as we can't prepare for them in advance.

It was the Brighton game, Would be a excellent service if you get the basics right. Can I make a suggestion would it be possible to hire in some portaloos as sometimes people are traveling over an hour with no toilet facilities.

I want to sincerely apologise again for the experience you and others had last night. Unfortunately, the driver was given the wrong running board, which led to the incorrect timings, despite us providing the correct schedule to the operator in advance. Although this mistake wasn’t the driver’s fault, his attitude on the night was unacceptable and doesn’t reflect the standard we expect. A simple apology from him could have made a real difference, and I understand this wasn’t offered.

We’ve received similar feedback from other supporters and have already raised the issue with the operator this morning. Both the conduct and the running board error are being looked into and taken seriously.

Thank you for this information, I will look into who was driving that night and speak to the operator. I am not 100% sure that would be possible, but I can certainly put the suggestion forward for you.
