Looks like more carnage on the trains! @matchdaybus are you planning more capacity?
Hi, thanks for reaching out. There will be diversions to rail services whilst Stockport railway station is closed so we would advise anybody travelling by train to plan their journey in advance. As always, we will continue to monitor bus capacity and manage it accordingly.

The MC9 Flixton bus was standing room only, I know we have the MC9X but I think what's putting people off this is that the Trafford centre stop is the first one, if we had two buses and one of them going to the Trafford centre as the last stop it'd make sure everyone is comfortable

Hi James, thanks for getting in touch. Yes I witnessed this tonight and it was very busy. I will feed your suggestions back for when we make changes next season. Thanks for your continued support.

Tried the bus last night for the first time , thought it was excellent, well organised etc , on time , easy to find , £8 is a bit on the pricey side but I’ll definitely be using it again- well done to all involved in getting it organised
We are so glad you had a good experience using the matchday bus! I will feedback your comments on pricing too! We look forward to serving you again in the future.

No further details on these such as timings but funny to call them Express buses for such a short journey. Still, the more buses the merrier I guess.

Can’t praise the service enough, don’t think I’d chance the “X” buses been as they don’t leave much wriggle room especially with the road congestion these days, if the price could come down a bit it would be perfect.

Following the success of the Matchday Bus Network, we are pleased to announce the launch of a new Express Bus Service trial, designed to provide even more convenient transport options for fans attending Manchester City home matches. The trial will begin on Saturday, 12th April, and will run for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

The new Express Bus Services will operate on the following routes:
  • MC101: Booth Street West Car Park to Etihad Stadium
  • MC102: Victoria Rail Station to Etihad Stadium
  • MC103: Piccadilly Rail Station to Etihad Stadium
Booking and Ticket Information

To use the Express Bus Service, advance booking is required. Fans can secure their seats online by visiting the following link: Manchester City Match Day Buses | Bee Network | Powered by TfGM

Once on the website, select the service you wish to use, then navigate to the "Fares and Ticketing" section to view pricing details and complete your booking.

Any queries please reach out on here or at matchdaybus@tfgm.com and we will be happy to help.

dont use eccles P&R the tram line alway under maintenance it never runs

It’s just recently reopened after a month of being shut. So I’m guessing it should be free from any ( pre planned ) engineering work for a while now at least.

No doubt the club will increase their coffers by getting a cut of the money, not even subsidised either the hard faced sods.

I can catch the 219 from Stalybridge to the stadium, £2 each way or fiver for a day pass. I can buy a day saver and travel all over greater Manchester for a fiver. No way will i be using the match bus unless they charge £2 each way or accept a day pass, which they won't.

Can you use your oap card to get free travel on the bus from Victoria station? It says to book in advance but there doesn't seem to be any option other than to pay the £2 fare. I know it's only £2 and not too bothered about paying it but wondered if there is a way to book and get the benefit of free travel with the oap bus pass ?

Hi, thanks for contacting and raising this. The express buses are managed through City so we will raise this with the club and find out if this is something they are going to do.

Hello everyone,

As I mentioned previously, we've been working on integrating the matchday buses into the Bee Network app so you can easily track them in real time. I'm pleased to let you know that we're running a trial of this feature tomorrow on MC8 and MC9.

If you're planning to use either of these buses for tomorrow’s fixture, please give the app a try and let us know how it goes. Your feedback will be really helpful as we look to improve the service and roll it out across all matchday bus routes.

Thanks for your continued support, we look forward to hearing how you find it!
