No the seats are staying red and the strip will have a touch of red in it, it's probably for the duration of the deal. I got it off there forum. "quote"Immaculate Pasta said:Have they definatley changed their colours then from red? Including the stands, seats and railings?

Well said, we're not calling ourselves Hyde United, at least it's not along the lines of Hyde Genesis or some other farcical name.
As for City buying us, I don't think FA rules allow one club to own another club, as 1 owner cannot own 2 teams (conflict of interest). Should be interesting to see the full extent of the changes, as the website states they will be:
- Revert back to Hyde FC from Hyde United FC
- New strip for 2010/11, 'incorporating the Club’s original colours of black and white' (so that may mean red is being retained as it is merely 'incorporating' the 2 colours e.g. red shirt, black shorts, white socks, or maybe a stripy ensemble)
- 'Further developments' over the next few weeks (Robinho to sign? ;))
- A 'significant number of improvements and uplift of facilities at Ewen Fields in time for next season'.
Identity crisis

It's fair to say that when the club made the announcement last Wednesday, I went through what could only be described as some form of identity crisis. Here was the club I'd supported for thirty odd years changing both its name, by dropping United, and its first team colours that would no longer be mainly red? I nearly had a heart attack when an ugly rumour started that they were re-painting the ground BLUE!
Ironically, the name change I could live with (the media generally leave out United anyway and a few like-minded supporters had the name Hyde FC in mind if we'd been wound up last Autumn and had to re-form), but the club colours and the ground, surely not? Imagine our rivals receiving some sponsorship on the proviso that the ground was painted red? We'd be laughing all the way over the hill and back again!
I still can't help thinking that element of the deal is more to do with City's paranoia about the name 'United' and all things red (are they creating their own TV channel to televise reserve games? Don't want a predominently red ground?), rather than the Hyde Board's sudden desire to celebrate the 125th anniversary of football in Hyde.
Having said that, there is no doubt that some of the ground improvements in tow (a new, improved irrigation system, to replace the one which has recently packed up, plus new ground maintenance machinery and storage) are wholly necessary if we're to maintain the high standards of the pitch and the essential income that generates.
On recent inspection, I have to say the paint job on the ground isn't as bad as I first envisaged (Navy Blue & Grey) and the painters so far have done a neat, professional job. I would still have preferred red, but that was looking very worn in parts and in need of drastic repair. (Where would the money have come for that?).
My big fear was having to watch all home games from now on in a blue ground like Bridge's, but I've been assured there will be no royal blue in sight! The important thing for me is we still have our identity and it's distinct from our rivals. I believe the new kit will incorporate navy and white, but still have some red.
I would encourage the Board to release more information to fans about the developments as soon as they're able. Unfortunately, if you don't communicate timeously then certain people tend to fill the void with inaccurate nonsense ('City are taking us over'). Rubbish! FA rules don't allow it!
It's also been apparent to me over the years that there is a greater feeling of unity within the club when the Board engage the supporters (Fans forum/AGMs etc). As much as some of the subject matter may be difficult at times, I think we're all appreciative of at least having the opportunity to question and hear direct answers at first hand in an open forum. I understand there is a release of more information expected early this week (possibly today 14th) when the Board will make a further statement.
Finally, I may not necessarily agree with policy at times, but there's no doubting certain members work very hard for this football club. Interesting times again!
