City buy rights for old badge until 2017

As I understand it the commercial rights to the old City badge were owned by the people that ran the souvenir shop at Maine Road. Franny came in and commissioned a new badge to capitalise on lost merhcandising revenue. Also claiming the badge needed a continental feel.

why do we need permission ? its ours ???

it's effectively done to stop other using the badge on merchandise without permission, people/companies with copy but with City owning the license/copyright they can sue.

I DEMAND a new kit with this on.

I don't know a single City fan who prefers the new badge.

I like it. And as we have covered many, many times before, the current crest is a plethora of significant features relating to Manchester and it's history. The eagle, the three stripes, the ship etc.

Would be a bit annoying because i spent loads on a Man city wall banger(massive sticker), but i love the old one. No matter the badge the shirts should be good next year if Umbro carry their good work on.
