As amazing as we are on the pitch, I'd love us to fuck Sorriano off. He's a money-grabbing snake, happy to price out the true fans who have supported us for decades to replace them with a tourist if it makes an extra 50p a ticket. Electronic flags, a de facto ban on outside food, corporatisation of away tickets, year-on-year season ticket increases above what the local fanbase can afford, he's a leach and signifies everything that's wrong with football.
I agree! He’s the one man at the club I don’t trust at all, and I mean in any way shape or form.

Platinum still scandalously exists
Eleven seasoncard price rises in twelve years (£450 tickets at the start of this decade are now £850)
Constant monetisation of everything
Sanitisation of the matchday experience (to put normal fans off?)
Sorting out corporates, away fans, family stand and a few more corporates and just leaving us with piddly little efforts for vocal sections
Opposed £30 cap on away tickets
Introduced the largest percentage of away tickets for corporates in the country
Set a price of £65 for the Paris CL 1/4 final
Even though it seems a fair price on the outlook of it, set a price of £20 for the Burton EFL semi, when it should have been £1 for kids and £10 for adults
Allowing the sale of a chunk of away tickets on those tout sites (maybe even sanctions it)

The bloke doesn’t get us. On All Or Nothing he just didn’t understand why we would run on the pitch if we won the league against Swansea, not having a clue that whenever we’ve got promoted or won the league we’ve run on the pitch, at least, going back to 1968.

Do you reckon he ever sits at home searching through videos like this:

?

I get the feeling he’d fuck every single one of us off for someone who’d pay more and spend more in the ground and in the shop, even if they weren’t City fans and weren’t Mancunians. He’d have a 51000 (+3000 away fans) ground full of silent day-tripping Koreans every week and 3000 day-tripping Yanks at away games ‘whooping’ and singing “here we go City here we go” making us the laughing stock of football. But I just get the feeling he’d be happy with that if he could milk a bit more out of them than he could us.

You know who used to be a very Soriano-sceptic poster on here?.. @Prestwich_Blue !

In the unlikely event the character Roy Cropper liked football he would have been a City fan. He would have revelled in the utter misery of our lean years and prided himself that he helped stand firm and fight the football superpowers. Once our takeover happened though he would have left, bemoaning that we had lost our soul. His final tipping point would have been staggering confused through the countless games and events around the ground, becoming more exasperated as he slowly arrived at the turnstiles. On reaching one of showesecs finest and being told he couldn't take his flask and sandwiches inside, he would have finally handed over his season card and quit. Not before lecturing the steward and manager of course and stating,

"This flask has attended every game with me since 1955. In times of hardship and inclement weather It has proved to be a great source of succour. On the basis it is now refused entry gentlemen I reluctantly withdraw my support and bid you good day."
Even I may have tuned in for that particular episode

Sure the last few tickets for the spurs game were going for £60. I get inflation and prices go up with the football we are seeing on the pitch. Soriano with the general sale tickets has created the situation where people buy a season ticket and only attend probably half the games at the very most. We never had the issue with seats being empty but sold 7-8 years ago as the prices for a match day ticket were at an acceptable price, match day revenue is a drop in the ocean compared to every other revenue streams for a premier league club. If the north stand extension happens it’s the perfect opportunity to get supporters back with the pricing and even attract a lot of kids who have follow the club now, I’ve never seen so many City shirts dotted around Manchester but will they get the opportunity to go to a game with these prices? I very much doubt it.

Indeed.

There are 3214 £299 tickets. 8000 applied for one that first year [or is it that 8000 missed out? can’t remember now?!].

Shows you that the demand is there for the cheap tickets. I bet more than that would apply now n’all.

My Dad gave up his seasoncard earlier this decade. He now goes to individual games (mainly cup games because they’re cheaper). When he looked at the prices for this Saturday he slammed his phone on the chair and said he wouldn’t pay £63.50 for a match ticket.

And is it any wonder why, first home game for the Fourmidables against the second most consistently highest place finishers in the league behind us in the last four years, the two most consistent league teams in the country since 2015, hasn’t sold out?!

I’m a long term season ticket holder in South stand and I always attend with bag, flask & bar of chocolate.
Never had problems with security, ok I have to use the bag lane where they apply the tag, buts that ok.

That was a problem to me as I'd always attended on my bike, so I had cycling clothing (waterproofs, high viz, helmet, gloves etc.) and while they wouldn't go into an A4 sized bag, they did fit in a bag that would go under my seat, so as not to interfere with the walkways.

It seems harsh that they are applying that rule on you - I have cycled to every home game for a few years and always have a bag with a change of clothes and genuinely never had a problem ot her than being told to remove the previous games security tag.

Is what Soriano does the result of issues like FFP, Sky, the top 4

City have to make money to compete. We cannot have simple cash injections

All clubs are doing it in reality.

I not agreeing either, just highlighting that this is the case

There are currently 4 (four) tickets available for this fixture on the planner in the whole stadium.
Not that I don't agree the price of match day tickets is ridiculous or the club are wholly wrong regarding pricing policies.
To suggest its not sold out is a bit disingenuous to suit ones own agenda. imo
