City can turn this round

Only gonna be a matter of a game or two. Remember years ago where we used to traipse to Maine Road and The Etihad and think that one of these days we are well and truly gonna batter some team. Can't remember whether we did or not (!) but I think there's one on the horizon. The back four is gonna return to some measure of solidity, the midfield will see some Silva magic, and Sergio will continue with a reduction in the time it takes him to score - currently running at 67 mins!! We'll also NOT be on the shitty end of some outrageously incompetent refereeing. Heard on the radio that someone this afternoon had thrown an opponent onto the ground and a yeller ensued. Wonder why Yaya got a red on Wednesday if three days later yeller is the order of the PL?

I also remember the seasons where we couldn't come away from a trip to London with a single goal, let alone a point!

A return to free scoring, fluid, rapid football is but a game or two away.

I may be wrong, but I'm sure he was already on a yellow before that offence

He was, but that was a straight red card. I think!

I keep reading comparisons with last season, as some blues conveniently forget that City were thrashing teams at the ETIHAD, and despite some grim results, had been slightly unlucky away from home.

All it needed was a change in fortune and it started to arrive, around late November/early December (dubious penalty decisions against Everton, Liverpool disallowed goal etc)

We also had Negredo, who was on fire at the time, and Garcia, who stepped in around Christmas as Pellegrini rotated.
When Negredo faded, Dzeko came up to the plate and duly delivered some important goals at critical times.

After the Sunderland defeat, we were 8 points behind Arsenal, but as many blues have already suggested, Chelsea are a completely different story.

We will struggle to catch Chelsea, and overall our squad is weaker, both in quality and quantity.

Something has changed, but my opinion for what it’s worth, is that most of it was already there last season.
Remember how you felt, the minute before Yaya equalized at Wembley. Were you really confident of victory, or did you think that City had been guilty of complacency?

Similarly, the home games against Sunderland and West Brom. We fight to the end, but according to Kompany on the official DVD, some of the players had definitely given up

I’m all for resilience, but blind faith can only get you so far.

If that makes me a flapper then so be it. See you in Rome!

Up the blues!

He was, but I left The Etihad thinking he got a straight red for violent play. Anyone see Zorba the Freak pull out a yeller before the red?

Chelsea will have a dodgy month, it's all about staying within 10 points by new year. One signing/injury can change a season. So can the lack of Champs League!

We need to get the chumps league out of the way. In it or out of it I think the games after it we'll see us pick up our willingness to fight more. After the way we've won the premiership before (I love typing "we've won the premiership") I'll never give up believing until its mathematically impossible, blind faith if you like but no flapping from me.

Yeah we've been in worse positions, 8 points behind you know who with a few games to go , so no reason why we can still do the treble.

Our players are capable it is just whether they still have the appetite and Pellegrini has the know how to get them gelling as a unit.
