Any more news on this? Would be the signing of the summer IMO and would come even though we've no CL.
What makes you sure he would come without CL football? Werder Bremen will almost certainly be playing in the CL Qualifiers. I hope you are right but we can probably expect some disappointments this summer.

Fair point. I guess if Leverkusen beat Bremen to the final German CL place that would benefit us.

I'd say we're still in with a decent-ish shout regardless though, there were players who were prepared to take the long view last year when we hadn't progressed nearly as much (tenth rather than potentially one point off fourth) - and they were much more established and experienced players than Ozil. Then there's the wages factor.

The Premier League is a massive pull for players as it's broadcast all over the world unlike Germany.

We can offer both European football and top notch wages.

We are also a club that will only progress year on year and not one in decline.

Of course we are an attractive proposition for any ambitious player.

We need players hungry for success not those who have already been there, done that a got the T Shirt

This is the kind of player we need, young, hungry, talented. German's are able to settle okay in the prem and he'll be a future star. Just wonder what the price would be, £10-15mil?

Double or tripple that and you might be close.

The journo's and so called pundits are alway's going on about us with words like 'no history' and 'no CL' and consequently the players will not join us. They never mention the most important word for us...that word is 'POTENTIAL' and we have oodles of it. Players (especially young players) should consider this seriously. Do you think that Bremen or Leverkusan will ever win the Champions league?..bcause I don't. I can see us winning it at some future date because we will have the POTENTIAL (there's that word again) to do so. Look at us, we are a club with top support that will increase with success, we have a modern stadia within 2 miles of the city centre and we have serious owners who want to achieve no matter what the cost. I would really like to see Ozil come to our club. I hope he has the intelligence to see that POTENTIAL (there's that word again.
