City condemn racist abuse of Rico Lewis by Sevilla fans | Paltry €5k fined issued by UEFA (p7)

I thought when he walked past them they was giving it him.

Wankers.

What makes me laugh is they have black players in their own team, how must that make them feel knowing they've just racially abused a 17 year old kid just starting out in his career?

Absolute dregs of society.
I remember their fans being terrible for racism a few years ago when we played them over there. Weirdos

Sevilla also maintained there had never been any "racist or xenophobic episodes" at their Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

The moment I saw the ref telling him to walk around the stadium I knew Sevilla fans were going to throw racist remarks at the boy. Typical!
Believe it or not, I expected them to show some respect and appreciate his achievement. I guess I expected to much.

We were in the South Stand 2nd tier and noticed as he walked past the Sevilla section below us Rico was giving them a hard stare. Just at the last part of that section before he reached the next City section. We said at the time it was probably in response to getting some stick of them. Didn’t realise it wasn’t just the usual opposing player stick but he was clearly staring them out.

I notice Sevilla’s statement conveniently ignores these incidents, only last month:

I saw the stewards grip someone late on and march him up the steps. Maybe this was the reason.

This was the guy wearing a white cap and identified by a group of City fans close to the barrier, my son was in the south stand next to the small group of Sevilla fans, and he confirmed last night on the way home from the game, that there were 2 or 3 guilty of racism aimed at Rico as he walked past them.

Thought it was strange at the time even looking from the east stand. Now it makes sense what had happened.
