HARRY'S KEANE ON ROBBIE

81979_1.jpg

HARRY Redkanpp is trying to re-sign his third Tottenham old boy of this month's transfer window by offering Robbie Keane an escape route out of Liverpool.

But Spurs could face their third battle with Manchester City as Mark Hughes contemplates a move for striker Keane.

Tottenham made a tentative enquiry about taking Keane back in December, and interest was reignited after Keane was left out of the Liverpool squad on Sunday.

Liverpool claim Keane is not for sale, and the player is determined to prove himself at Anfield.

But that will not put Redknapp off.

It is understood Liverpool still owe Spurs a large part of the £2 million they agreed to pay for Keane in the summer.

That money could be waived, with Spurs offering £5m in new cash. Tottenham might even try to avoid shelling out a fee by waiving the owed money and allowing Aaron Lennon or Gareth Bale to move to Anfield.

Redknapp said: “I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t like Keane at my club.”

City manager Hughes is weighing up a bid for Keane, having already beaten Spurs to the signing of Craig Bellamy. Redknapp, though, did come out on top in the chase for Wilson Palacios.

Jermain Defoe went back to Spurs after just under a year at Portsmouth, while Pascal Chimbonda lasted only six months at Sunderland before completing his £3m return yesterday.

Now this would be a very, very good signing. High work rate that causes chaos in other teams defence and clinical scorer, who must be hungry for goals after being sidelined at Liverpool. Rafa made a clear come and get him statement by leaving him off the team entitely.

'Tap em up Harry' interested, he is rebuilding Martin Jols team (did he not get sacked for failing) bit by bit, anyone find this laughable, sell all your players then set about buying them back.

Well worth a £14m bid and a decent size wage, but is Robbie interested in us?

Good player to much like bellamy though, cant see them together
