Why don't all us buy the plots he is selling and then sell on to city for £1 profit... Would surely annoy the rag fecker!!
Oh yeah, he'd be well annoyed walkking off with 1.6million.

It would ruin his day.

Re: City CPO going to Public Enquiry

If you read the terms and conditions on his website it looks quite clear that it's just brinksmanship. Paying £250 is an offer, he chooses whether to act on that offer next year, if he does then the £50 land registry fee is deducted and 'your' plot is then only worth £200.... will never happen.

Re: City CPO going to Public Enquiry

Surely this guy must know how deprived the area is working there? Surely he must know what good this kind of huge investment and development of wasteland would bring to the area and its residents?

To block not only the proposed building of this site, but a better future for the local residents shows just what an absolute shower of shite this guy is.
I wonder if he would share the same reticence to sell if it was United who wanted to buy the land?

I think not.

The real question is, why haven't a group of good samaritans from Mary D's visited this man yet and had some gentlemanly conversation with him?

I'd actually have a lot more time for him if he told the truth and admitted that he's doing this purely for reasons of football rivalry.
this is the one

Re: City CPO going to Public Enquiry

How long before someone on here gets their wires crossed and goes and burns down the Little house on the prairie, as it is known, on the M62? ;0)

It's purely business... the rag may have gone about things the wrong way (media etc.) and we City fans may not like it ...... but its business and that's how some companies operate, whereas other companies may take a pragmatic view of an employee refusing to work but are still prepared to welcome him back to increase his stock value to enable them to sell the employee in the near future at a higher price.... which again is just business ...... we may have an emotional connection to both issues, but take City out of both scenarios and it becomes "just business".

If you take City out of it, I'm quite sure he wouldn't be taking this stance.

I disagree mate, My understanding is City have offered £200k plus relocation fees which is way above market value ..... however, the company is struggling and in debt to the tune of £380k ....... if he accepts the offer, the chances are he will fold ( and if he doesn't its only a matter of time before he folds) ..... he's holding out in an last attempt to save his business ....... he cannot afford to legally fight the CPO so we are still in the "brinkmanship" stage of the negotiations and he's only using the rag connection to gain negative publicity to put pressure City ......... but that's only my opinion.
But if we've offered £200k plus relocation fees, and that's way above market value, then I don't see the value in refusing? City will be awarded the CPO, of that there's no doubt, and the CPO will assess the market value of his property and he will be forced to accept that valuation. So, by holding out and refusing to accept the £200k offer he'll actually be receiving far less than £200k for his property. It just seems illogical.

As I understand it, his business has significant liabilities so I'll download the accounts tonight and have a look. If that's the case, then I'd guess he'll be trying to hold out for enough money to clear those so he can either walk away with a tidy profit or start afresh. His business (truck recovery) is not one that desperately needs to be where it is because it's vital to the community. He could move 100 yards down the road or 100 miles down the road and be no worse off.
