i'm not a massive crouch fan but i think there's quite a stigma attached to these type of player's, would you have Niall Quinn in his pomp? i would, i think Crouch would be ok, he's a decent prem performer alway's gives his lot and most importantly we need options. There's better player's out there but we need a squad that can get us into 4th then the top quality will come, he'll do a job for now.

when crouch is in your team, no matter what people say about his footballing skills, teams always tend to resoort to long ball tactics.....

bojinov, caicedo, sturridge, bellamy, crouch...........all fighting for one position.....why?

hes no better than what we already have....so if we gonna get a striker, lets get someone better than what we already have.

Peter Crouch is a good player and it would appear to me that Hughes is wanting to sign a target man who he has a decent knowledge of. Crouch will get you 15 goals a season and is a handful for opposition defenders. I think he would be a good signing and certainly a much better signing than RSC!

I was not having a go at hughes, just thinking about Steve Daley, Lee Badbuy, Craig Bellamy (A good player but a sick note), and all the rest of the crap over the years.

Please don't mention Crouch and Niall Quinn in the same breath.
Niall Quinn was more accurate with his head than Crouch is with his feet....although to totally contadict myself-I don't actually think that Crouch is a bad player......If you ever saw Quinn on a good day,you'll know exactly what I mean...


One thing I find puzzling.

If MH is so sure he wants Crouch in Jan,and he couldn't sign RSC during the last window.....why didn't he attempt to sign him from a skint,Adams-lead Pompey when it was obvious we needed another striker and RSC wasn't coming?

We've Just added 5 mill to the price.
