During his tenure at Barca, Pep promoted Sergio Busquests and Pedro to the first team squad from the B team. Is there any EDS players you think Pep will promote or would like to see be brought in to the first team?

None who I would say 'start them' at the expense of senior players next season, assuming we are making signings in our weaker positions, but players to get time on the pitch from the subs bench & maybe the occasional start in cup games, I'd say it's a bigger question which ones shouldn't be considered. There are a small group currently at the club who aren't good enough to even consider imo but I'd rather not name them.

The rest, including some of those on loan & some of those realeased such as Evans & Lopes, have been good enough to consider coming from the subs bench, for over a year imo & next season, one or two of the U18s will possibly be in that frame as well.

Pep used absolutely loads of kids at Barca, mosly off the bench here & there & most of them not worldbeaters, just used to help the squad fill in.

If he follows the same routine at City there could be a huge number ofplayers figure for short bursts. Whoever looks the part, would get more opportunities in the future.

It looks like the Spanish kids are being pushed forward, so I expect them, plus Jason Denayer, to be the frontrunners.

Injuries aside, our bench make up since the announcement of Pep coming has been interesting and although not many have made it on to the pitch, they are now making the bench.

Has he had a word perhaps?

Pellegrini has had a youth player on the bench for nearly every game this season, long before Guardiola was signed.

Not the the extent seen recently though, especially yesterday.

Well obvioulsy, we have 14 players fit, Youth players have to make up the rest.

Some of which have come from the small group of players who are behind the rest in quality.

Strange to say the least. Almost as if they were just there to make up the numbers on the bench.

Not really. Ihenacho, Angelino, Celina, Maffeo, Roberts, Humphries, both Garcia's, Barker and Evans have been on the bench. How are they "behind the rest in quality"? That basically reads like a list of the best u21 players.

I've no idea but I do know he will have a good look at the young players and work with them to improve the ones he sees have potential. People are talking about him only doing three years as manager but he has a passion about developing young players and I could see him taking over at the Academy once he finishes with the first team.

Well Iheanacho is a signing, as is Roberts, most of the rest have been mainly recent addittions as the poster you were replying to has suggested. The ones you have missed out are the ones I'm referring to & would rather not single out.

i think it's down to injuries rather than any Pep influence, but in most games I don't think many of the kids on the bench are there to play, under any but catastrophic circumstances good or not.

You have seen Manu Garcia play, for example. Do you really think he was getting on, away at Stoke, in a hurricane ? If the roof fell on the others perhaps.
