City fan suffers broken leg after being attacked at Leeds game

They'll have CCTV footage hopefully so that should make things simple. A bit like when the VAR officials have lots of footage to help them get things right ..............

As someone who thought CCTV would help defend me against an incident not only did I get charged by the police and then later in court it took months for me to get the truth out there.

So no, have no faith in the police doing their job or relying on cctv

At this point they might as well make a full section an official neutral end. Stick all of the third party site reseller tickets in the third tier of the East Stand (sorry any regulars) and leave the rest of the ground to the home fans.

It’s embarrassing I’m even typing this but I’d rather that than what’s going on at the moment. Unfortunately, for whatever reason the club seem to be happy to alienate and slowly chip away at our core support. Going to home games is becoming a chore.

It’s happened slowly over a number of years but they couldn’t give a toss about the regular match goer who isn’t interested in spending £100s at each game. It’s not going to get any better when we have another 8000 tickets to shift and more hospitality sections.
Im not sure if this has been tried before…but rather than restricting the away end to 3,000 tickets…if the demand from the away team is going to be 5/6 thousand fans…then give them a bigger away end…erm like they used to & theyll stop buying tickets in the home end

It's not damage limitation, that's just nonsense.

If it does turn out to be Blue on Blue I'll guarantee that no one on here will hold their hands up and say "I was wrong". Perhaps the club did know when they put that tweet(?) out but were unaware of the damage to the fan. Did he not get back up and sit down again? Maybe it wasn't apparent until scans at the hospital. The trouble is that if they say nothing they'll get slaughtered and when they do they get slaughtered.

The modern world I'm afraid, absolutely no time is given for actual facts to come out as people want to get their version out first.
I didn’t say it was damage limitation that was a different poster I was responding to. Whatever the club did or didn’t do they had absolutely no need to say it wasn’t leeds fans involved they should just have said the police are investigating

I was agreeing with you about the damage limitation comment.

If the club were aware that it wasn't Leeds fans why wouldn't they say so, it perhaps stops some idiots looking for revenge armed with a knife in their waistband. There's more than enough morons out there to make it a distinct possibility.

But how was it damage limitation jrb? By saying there was no Leeds involvement (which may or may not be correct but I doubt they KNOW that) they have just said it was only Blues

So they may or may not have been any Leeds fans involved, still to be 100% confirmed, as I have been in and out of the thread, and I haven't read every post. If it has been confirmed they weren't Leeds fans, then fair enough, the club was right on that point.

It is a serious injury.

Bar that, the main issue still stands, and will keep on coming up until City stop selling home tickets to away fans via their 9 ticket touting partners.

The next flash point will be Gala.in.the CL.

What needs to happen is for security to be seriously improved for the Galatasaray game. I understand City Matters are pressing the Club for assurances. Some good might come out of this yet

Can I ask you a question. You have total confidence in City’s statement that was very wrong on the extent of injuries. Why?

They used to do exactly that at Old Trafford in the 80s.

Some followings were 10-12k.

An ambulance was called to take the bloke to hospital, so the club was wrong to dismiss his injuries as "minor"
And as for the "no leeds fans involved"
Shouldn't they wait for the preliminary police report before issuing a public statement!

What about the season card holders in the next block!
Where are you relocating those to?

That was all very well in the days of terracing, but where in the ground are you going to put the extra 2/3000 now without shifting that many home fans who have paid for that seat.

I haven’t seen the statement suggesting the injuries were “minor”, do you have a copy of that?

I have seen the statement suggesting the injuries weren’t as bad as what was being written in online postings which is a comparative statement, but I guess it depends on what was being posted, which I also haven’t seen. They were probably wrong to say that though and should have used the phrase “please be careful not to post inaccurate information online while we assist the police in identifying the facts”. This indirectly suggests that there is bad info already out there without pissing anyone off.
