City fan suffers broken leg after being attacked at Leeds game

In all honesty what do we think needs to change at the club with ticketing and the atmosphere. The club have clearly chosen the path of going down the third party sellers which a middle finger to Season Ticket Holders and Members who try and go to most matches throughout the season.

I understand the hard work City Matters and 1894 and other fan groups do behind the scenes to get the message across to the club for us.

But if the club want to do something like Viagogo they will do it no protest will stop them. I'm slowly losing all my faith with the club... Who thought watching Man City would be so hard.

At this point they might as well make a full section an official neutral end. Stick all of the third party site reseller tickets in the third tier of the East Stand (sorry any regulars) and leave the rest of the ground to the home fans.

It’s embarrassing I’m even typing this but I’d rather that than what’s going on at the moment. Unfortunately, for whatever reason the club seem to be happy to alienate and slowly chip away at our core support. Going to home games is becoming a chore.

It’s happened slowly over a number of years but they couldn’t give a toss about the regular match goer who isn’t interested in spending £100s at each game. It’s not going to get any better when we have another 8000 tickets to shift and more hospitality sections.

There are 9 ticket tout partner organisations who sell tickets for our games and, looking on them, games for many PL clubs. Doesn’t matter if every ST holder attends or every ticket on City’s official ticket site is sold, the ticket partners will ensure that there will be loads of away fans at that game.

Plus 13 ST price rises in 16 years means that many people have pulled out of Cup Schemes over the years to offset the rises. This means many Blues don’t go to CL games, and that’s the club’s fault, not the fans who feel they can’t justify the price rises.
"13 rises in 16 years" - does anyone somewhere on here have recorded proof of that? Not that I'm questioning it, just that it'd be extremely helpful to have that to hand for future.

was thinking of something like this- get all the singers in the new stand, import them from the SS, move away fans to top tier of ES, level 3 SS make into a neutral zone with city selling at the club to members first then the remaining tickets 'if any' go on 3rd party sites if unsold

You will need to find some singers in the SS to move first.

I'm not sure to be honest mate, I noticed it recently when doing a safeguarding course. There's also a number to call 0208 157 9000

This is City's safeguarding page - https://www.mancity.com/club/safeguarding

It has Ryan Greenhalgh - ryan.greenhalgh@mancity.com listed as Head of Safeguarding. I'm tempted to drop him an email with my concerns about taking our kids to a game with the threat of opposition fans kicking off in the home end.
I can sympathise with you, especially for the Gala game.
We had a one adult & two juniors for years, at both Maine Road and the Etihad.
They were in the Platt Lane family area (first few rows) and the Family Stand at the Etihad.
Don't ever remember away fans infiltrating any games, although in the mid-90's there was a fair amount of trouble, especially at Maine Road.
Safeguarding is a high profile issue nowadays, surely City needs to get their act together quickly, before the North Stand expansion...

I can’t see anything wrong with this. Better than standing next to some miserable git who moans about every pass
We had a local school party in block 308 right behind us and they never stopped chanting for City and screaming when we attacked. It was a pain in the arse but still nice to see. Some of these kids will become lifelong City fans. Give them a break.

Thank you. When I was being wheeled down from one part of A & E to another on Saturday the porter asked his mate what the score was (mentioning no names, just what score is it) I said We’re winning 1-0 after 5 minutes and then added I should be there! So got into a football conversation as always!! *lol*
Have you seen my photo of my notice board from the hospital on what I want to happen?
‘Get home to watch Man City’ and my nurse drew a heart because she’s a City fan!
Was that the MRI? That is a totally Blue hospital. I had an extended stay there last year and virtually all the staff and patients were City fans. We even tracked the scores in ICU. It really boosted my recovery.

The neutral section used to be great at Fulham. Always lots of City fans in there with the plastics.

Anyone remember when Celtic came to the Etihad for a CL game a few years ago ? This was obviously before the “new” ticketing policy and system in place now ………
It kicked off everywhere that night with those scruffy moronic bigoted clowns !!!
Gala now is possibly going to be a shit show embarrassment for MCFC on a global stage ……..
Yes I do! I phoned up to buy tickets 2 or 3 weeks before the match for me, my sons and a mate. I was told that something was wrong with the system so tickets couldn't be applied to my membership so I had to re-join there and then. A week after, I was sent an email asking if I wanted a message for any special occasion or something displayed on the scoreboard (screens) which I ignored.

As I arrived at the Etihad, we walked past a large group of Celtic fans singing IRA songs close to Summerbee's Bar. We got to the turnstile and none of our tickets worked. We went to the ticket office only to be told that because my membership had no purchase history, the tickets had been cancelled as I was "a security risk". It was only because my sons were with me that I managed to refrain from dragging the spotty, little fucker through the counter window by his tie as explained to him that I'd just passed some away fans singing terrorist songs at a Manchester stadium who apparently weren't considered a security risk.

Luckily, he saw that I was somewhat agitated and allowed me to buy tickets on my Dad's membership to ensure we got in. As you say, inside the ground, there were groups and individual jocks all around the ground, mostly pissed up. Then we had the spectacle during the 67th minute of the scruffs switching on the torches on their phones all around the stadium.

I was fuming when the club began to sell loyalty points with season tickets but this was the first time I had felt unwelcome at the club I've supported since 1987. I, like many others, fear the worst when Galatasaray come to town to the point where I haven't asked my daughter if she wants to come after she was scared witless by Young Boys fans hurling countless missiles into the Kippax corner on a previous occasion.

No Hope Hospital (Salford Royal for strangers) but there were a lot of Blues around. :-)

That night was shambolic inside the ground . I was in 121 and it kicked off proper ! Little groups of Celtic fans everywhere mouthing off and showing their shitty green and white hooped shirts , then the IRA songs started . The stewards did a great job back then every city fan who was involved were let back into their seats , this would not happen now you will loose your SC for protecting yourself it is utter madness .Outside the ground there were groups of Celtic fans roaming around looking for trouble before kick off .

I heard the whack of the bloke hitting the floor. Didn't see anything before that.
Took the guy on the floor a couple of minutes to get up into a chair.
The white coat guy was bleeding after he got hit by a couple of people.
There was a long haired guy as well who seemed to throw the most punches
Apparently he was white coats son. Rumour is he’s the City fan who provided the tickets in the home end

Oh my goodness I don’t half miss all those away games. Europe, Southampton Bournemouth, Newcastle, the length and breadth of the land. The camaraderie, the meeting like minded folk. Making new friends and even today seeing people and them calling hya EB as I get to the ground.
Those were the days my friend, we thought they’d never end. Etc etc.
Nostalgia rules!! ;-) :-)
The Keegan promotion season is probably my favourite one - huge away followings , fantastic attacking football , The Goat , Benarbia, Berkovic , Huckerby et al running riot - happy days

Yes, lets just relocate half the stadium to accommodate a neutral zone.
