City fan suffers broken leg after being attacked at Leeds game

Any good things happened over the last 10 years?
We know what the good things are that have happened on the pitch. Which the fans have constantly praised.

We're talking about bad things that have happened off the pitch, and more specifically how the directors have treated the (Legacy) fans.

Even you can't be happy with some of the bad things that have happened off the pitch, just because City have been successful on the pitch?

No club; organisation or entity is perfect. We don’t know what is really going on behind the scenes. For example, things like the super cup - if it had happened and we hadn’t joined in, the club would have been pulverised for its shortsightedness. We would have been left behind in Europe. A decision had to be made - we were one of the last to agree to join & one of the first to pull out.

Our club has constantly had to fight the red cartel without making it look as if we’re the cause of the trouble. The owners have tried to be discreet as well as successful.

Ticket issues are affecting every club in the PL - not just ours. Who knows what is being played out in the background?

I’ve loved the club for decades but I don’t want to go back to being ickle citeh with only local supporters.

I want our club to be a global phenomenon but we have had to fight UEFA (& won) and now we are fighting at least 8 clubs in the PL (115) who would love to be us and therefore want to ruin us because they can’t stand our success.

We’re not perfect but I don’t believe the powers that be have changed from being heroes who pushed our club to the highest echelons to now being evil takers who don’t give a toss about the fans.

Each to their own. You post a lot in here & have huge issues with the club. It’s your right to do so if you feel justified

I have a different outlook and have the same rights as you.

After the initial shock, I have found the last week uplifting with fans, fans groups and City Matters coming together to support an injured Blue. The lad has his op this afternoon and hopes to come around to a 2-1 win for the mighty Blues.

This time last week I was probably a happy clapper. This week I’m not certain but I’ve still sorted tickets in the last 24 hours to get an extra 5 Blues into the ground, including a dad and lad and a father and two sons. Our Supporters Club bus is full and we will be getting behind the lads.

Please let Pep and the lads know we are right behind them through being as vocal as possible.

I’m posting from Stretford precinct. It’s light years since half a dozen or so of us used to display our City shirt in there every Saturday morning to show our pride for the Blues. It just brings back memories of those days when winning wasn’t everything.

Some rag arse has just walked in wearing the Glazers club shop to ruin my coffee!!

The Super League was never going to by allowed, not by the fans, and more importantly not by the Government, as it turned out. Club owners couldn’t just change 100’s of years of football history for millions of football fans in this country by themselves without consulting the fans, the FA, the PL, and the Government. And if the clubs thought they could, they were absolutely deluded in that belief and in their own power. The Super League was dead from the start. City eventually admitted they made a mistake by joining the Super League money trough. For all of PSG’s faults they decided not to go into the Super League and came out of the sorry Super League saga with huge credit. Whist City bragged about coming out of the Super League first in this country. Otherwise known as damage limitation.

So let’s forget the Super League fiasco, and the clubs greed, that backfired horribly.

One more very important point. The stadiums in this country would have been empty. I along with millions of other football fans want to watch PL football, not Super League football, which we have now got with the CL league format and the knockout stages.

The government will take "whatever action necessary", including legislative options, to stop plans for a European Super League, No 10 says.

Just for clarity this "walking away" is based on attending games not whether you still have feelings for the club.
If you stop going there is an empty seat. It doesn't matter if you've died, had a severe illness, been priced out, got fed up of the team not getting 100 points every season or can't cope with the parking restrictions and poor public transport. Or of course if you just can't be arsed any more. In all cases your contribution to the club on matchdays is zero. That's zero ticket money, zero food/drink money and zero crowd noise, whether you watch every game on TV or not.
Conversely if the guy staying away buys his nephews or grandkids or whoever a couple of home kits and various other merch during the year for birthdays or Christmas he’s probably contributing more to club coffers than the FOC with his budget season ticket

That’s probably why we were reluctant to join

I knew you would come back with a nonsense reply on the Super League reply to you.

City joined the Super League. End of.

Don't make excuses for Khaldoon and the Directors. Watch the Khaldoon interview video if you haven't.

Bit confused what local fans, tourists and "Asian" fans are, tbh. Surely people who live in Manchester and go to every game are local fans to all intents and purposes?

Plenty of Asian fans live in Manchester, although if they were actually born in Manchester i would call them Mancunians first and foremost, and that automatically makes them locals ...... actual 'tourists', in the sense of the word, you would probably think of as people who come from different lands and are here 'touring' this country, on business, or on holiday, and might decide catch a football match or two in the process .... I do agree though, it's a very confusing game at times.

So you can make accusations with no challenge. But I can’t make what you deem to be excuses?
You think you’re right so let’s leave it at that.
You haven’t said anything to dissuade me from my views so give up.

Presume you know of the injured guy.

Has he mentioned if it was leeds fans involved or not as city said?
I think City know the aggressors weren’t Blues.

I don’t know for sure if they were Leeds fans.

Can’t say much more as statements are being taken.

Yes, let’s leave it at that. Khalddon was right, he admitted he made a mistake. That will do for me.

Didn’t we ‘join’ the super league because we were in fear of being left behind?

Not sure if it’s relevant here but did anyone else in the South Stand level 1 (or zero) see the row of stewards forming a guard of honour and preventing fans from exiting the concourse at the start of the second half?

They were demanding to see tickets and wouldn’t let people past which was all a bit unnecessary. I was shaking my head as I walked past and had one shouting ‘what are you shaking your head at’ which was laughable.

I hope this isn’t the clubs response to the Leeds farce, target season ticket holder areas.
