The problem is that because they have attended a match they are referred to as City fans. The theft has nothing what so ever to do with football. Would it mean that if someone were on a camping holiday and nicked something then they should be banned from camping? no of course not. The main problem I have is when did it become acceptable to steal? Have or morals as a society stooped so low that it is OK to behave in this manner. Supposing the headline read 4 heroin users steal from a shop. Everyone to a man would be on here calling them smackheads, junkies etc calling for their heads. The crime is the same, at least with an addict you know they are stealing for a reason, because they need money for a fix.
This whole thread speaks more about the society we live in and how it has degenerated.

The point I am making is that people actually think it is OK to steal. It is OK to take away their way of earning a living. What sort of twisted morals do you have? A grading system for crime? Shoplifting from ASDA ohh that's a 1 coz it's a big company, shoplifting from a corner shop ooh that's a 3 and so on and so on. Absolutely laughable.
If you notice my posts I haven't called for anyone to be banned from the club, as it is nothing to do with football.
I just can't understand and never will understand when it became acceptable to 1. steal and 2. justify such actions.

Think there's a bit of a generation gap on this one, it seems.
The teens and young 20-somethings think they should be allowed to rob innocent bystanders just because they are 'hardcore City' and 'sing for 90 minutes'.
The older crowd seem to think all football fans should be angels or else put in the stocks, flogged and banned for life.
Both are wrong. Shit happens, but it does'nt make it right. Pass the popcorn, this could be a 30-pager

Check my posts. At no point do I say it's ok to steal.

What I object to, and always object to on here, is the wailing and gnashing of teeth when anything is posted which is off the straight and narrow.

We've had people being branded as racists for singing about the size of Ade's knob; people jump down people's throat at the slightest hint of a joke in bad taste; only last week we had the ridiculous views of some regarding an ironic banner and now we have this.

I have always taken a 'laissez faire' atitude to life and it has done me well. It takes allsorts to make the world go round and although I won't condone theft, I won't get on my high horse about some young lads on a beano (pun intended) ballooning and getting in trouble.

Those lads will have to face the consequences of their actions. Not you, or anyone else on this thread who wasn't there. You aren't going to get batton charged at Wigan because of what happened. No-one will think worse of YOU because of what happened. So why can't you just shake your head and move on?

You suggested that the incident and this thread was a reflection of how society had "degenerated". On the contrary, far far worse than this used to happen on a regular basis before and after matches years ago so that argument really doesn't stand up.

The tuppence yer pay each week for burying yer when yer time comes, isn't kept under the company's mattress. It is put into a range of investments by the insurance company, one of which might be Asda, Tesco or Sainsbury. Nick off 'em and the value is compromised and the return yer get diminished. Some fucker will always be on the shitty end of some tart involving themselves in petty theft!

And Tesco, Sainsburys and Asda? Their isn't much they don't do these days.

Mate sorry we will have 2 disagree on this for example if you buy CIC or PHI not sure if you can get this from the Asda etc the premiums will go up if u have a reveiwable premium only and thats only to do with people getting cancer heart attacks that affects the CIC going up with regards Permanet Health Insurance again that people being unable to work from some condition or other put it this way 100 lads rob Sainsburys and u die the next day you will still get paid out the same sum assured weather they got robbed daily or never at all

The insurance/money/capital/Conran St markets affect everybody - even those who don't have any truck with the big bad capitalist world! Few appreciate the fact. If yer paying into a company pension scheme, you're part of it!

We seem to equate a piece of petty theft as unimportant. Won't be long with that attitude before petty gets a little bigger and before long we will be excusing all kinds of theft.

And a pox on all those who have attempted to demean the opposing stance by adopting the most ridiculous and hyper-exaggerated arguments.
