City fans in the Celtic end next week

I have lived and worked in Glasgow for a long time pal, there's a pathological hatred of the English. It's inbred.
I'm calling bullshit on that one. Where did you go to drink and socialise? Although I'm a jock, I've lived the vast majority of my life in England, but I did spend two years working in Glasgow from 2010 to 2012, and I went drinking in the city centre. There were plenty of English accents on show and I never, ever saw anyone get stick for it - in fact I'd say they were more than likely bought a point and asked where about in England they came from.

50,000 Rangers fans sing God save the queen and rule Britannia every other week. One half of Glasgow loves the English/Britain while the other loves all things Republic of Ireland.

Yep, but the side that love the ROI don't all hate the English.
There's still a few small minded dickheads up there but overall this idea that all Scotland hate the English is bollocks - unless they just hide it really well from me.

No of course they don't all hate the English but a rendition of any pro English songs from city fans will be met with a chorus of boos and whistles more than likely followed by a version of their own "party" songs which are banned by the way but they continue to sing them without punishment from the relevant authorities. Probably something like soldiers are we or something similar.

Yep, there's some complete and utter roasters up here who are so blinkered they just can't say anything good about the English and refuse to give them credit. These will be yes voter extremists.

What a lot of shite. Whilst I agree there are some people that don't like the English I think you'll find the vast majority do. Most Scottish people have friends or family in England. The "hatred"is in sport. Like it or not England is Scotland's biggest oldest sporting rivals and there's nothing better than watching your rivals suffer. Or do you think city fans don't love seeing the rags lose?As for the "yes voter extemests" you do know a large percentage of English voters voted yes? I have lived in England 36 years but if I was living in Scotland at the referendum I'd have been a yes voter. It doesn't make me hate the English any more than Brexit voters hate Europeans. Don't try and stir trouble where there isn't any. On the whole Celtic fans have a decent reputation. But yes there are some stuck in the dark ages. Pretty much the same with rangers. Anyone looking for trouble will find it wherever they go, those that don't tend to not find any. Like every rule there's an exception but the vast majority of city fans will have a great time in Glasgow
