City Fans Leaving Early/Empty seats

The League Cup used to be the only thing we could win. Now, as Pep's selection last night suggests, if we happen to win it then fine but in the eyes of the club and plenty of fans now, winning a PL and CL double is more important than winning a quadruple including the League Cup. It doesn't appear to matter to the club or the manager so why should it matter to the fans?
I don't know why others choose not to go, but as I said in my post, this isn't something new, it's happened for as long as I remember.
Far fewer regulars go to night cup games than league games, and I include the Champions League and FA Cup replays in that too.

Doing my nut in all these empty seat jibes.

It’s all the media have to throw at us, parroted by people who don’t or won’t think unless the media tells them too.

night cup games aren't as important. CL games, particularly group stage as well, the only difference with the CL is a marquee tie. Basel won't sell out, but Barcelona would put bums in seats.

If it had been the derby last night, it would have been pretty full.

I hear what you are saying but it has never been the case.
United in the semi final in 2010, few regulars in our block there, Barca, Madrid, Munich, even the semi final of the CL the same ones not there, they just don't go, and have never gone.

whatever way we dress it up last night was embarrassing, we are getting laughed at in the media, slaughtered all over social media. This is our best ever team, we are playing in a cup semi final and there were swathes of empty seats everywhere, our support was far better when we were in Div 2, I'm fucking ill with the way our support is being portrayed these days.

Who really gives a fuck about social media mate?
As for our support in Div 2 we averaged 28500 and last night there was 43,500.
I honestly don't give a toss what the rags etc and media say about empty seats...I'm in all the cup schemes but then again I don't have family commitments and I live locally so it's easier for me to get to the cup games.
Not all our fans are able to get to night games due possibly to work or family commitments or even lack of finance.
Yeah it would be great if we sold out every game but whether ground is full or not it doesn't impact on our results.
If the rags etc mention empty seats just laugh at them and ask for they go to the swamp...most seat counters don't go to games.

I get that some people are struggling with finances at this time of the year but anyone using the excuse that it was cold and dark for not attending is seriously taking the piss.

On the flip side to those saying 43,000 isn't a good crowd for a League Cup semi, a 54,000+ sell out against Burnley in the 3rd round of the FA Cup on Saturday (bearing in mind City's FA Cup scheme is voluntary for ST holders, unlike United where it's compulsory) was a fantastic turnout. Also, let's remember that game sold out 3 days in advance and as such I reckon we could've shifted another 5-6000 tickets if our capacity allowed it.
