because people leave early from SS3 as its absolutely dog shit getting out if you wait till the end.
the whole ground has literally cleared before you can even move down the isle then you have the bottle neck of 1000s of people trying to get through the totally inadequate double doors in the bar areas . how this stand passed health and safety i really dont know as if there was a full scale emergency we would all be fucked

Lucky I didn't ask for a level 2 seat. :-?

Two things stand out for me looking at those pictures.

On the top one, the front of 109, which is the block I sit in, is noticeably empty and very few of the boxes at the back of Level 2 of the East Stand appear to be in use. On the secondit is the premium/hospitality seats again that aren't being used.

Fine if they've been paid for and just aren't used but we're losing a huge chunk of potential revenue if they aren't being paid for. At the swamp I'm told that 60% of their matchday revenue comes from just over 10% of the capacity, which is the premium/hospitality seats.

SS3 Cheap ST were offered to ST holders first. No wonder they are often sparsely populated. These seats were ideal for those paying more
In other parts of the ground who couldn’t go to all the games. £299. £15 a game. People can’t be arsed reselling at those prices. Even if you miss 9 games it still only works out at £30 a game.

I must admit, I have thought that myself too when I've been up there.

It’s far more than just the premium seats in that 2nd photo Col. There’s loads of empties in the lower tier too, and as I wrote earlier, there were 23 empties out of the 60 seats in my row and the ones immediately in front and behind me in 118. That was a poor poor turn out for a 3pm ko on a Saturday

The worst is one you can’t see from your pictures; the 93:20 area was only about 1/3 full.

My theory is that it is, in general, the older and richer season ticket holders that are picking their games to attend. Putting up season ticket prices will just move the problem to a different set of fans who then can’t afford to go.

The only thing I can think of is safe standing. It could be cheaper than seats and the older generation won’t want to stand so the younger fans snap them up.

I hate to say it but I also think that there are some fans that initially chose to support City as there was a lot to moan about. Now the football is sublime what’s the point?! They lay in wait clutching their season ticket ready to return at the first sign of a slip!

The problem is worse at City because the average season ticket holder has been going over 20 years and some of them can’t be arsed going to any game that isn’t v top 6 anymore. In doing so they block the younger fans who want to go but are told it’s a sell out.

It’s a generational thing. I blame United ;-)

This could be a very valid point! But what infuriates me is how they don’t pass on their tickets to a mate/Son/Grandson or whoever.

But for me, I’m adamant a lot of these are seats are ones that are given to tour companies and they aren’t taken up. They do for games against the top 6 but then it’s clear as day that some of them are fans of the team we’re playing.

Both of these are unacceptable when we’ve had thousands of fans priced out over the years and fans who can’t get tickets because it’s “SOLD OUT” only to see thousands of empties!

Fucking sort it out City, it’s not fucking good enough!

Fuck these foreign tour companies off, for good! And take SCs off fans who don’t turn up and don’t pass on their ticket!

Agree with this, we sit near the front, and sometimes its a struggle to get out.

I rarely leave early, but if people have trains to catch, a couple of minutes can make a huge difference. I (stupidly) booked a train home too early from one game last year, so had to leave early, I left when the added time was shown, it took me 15 minutes less to get to piccadilly, quicker getting out of the stand, and quicker walking back to the station.

Those were the two most obvious things to me. We couldn't see 118 in those as it was taken from 215 (I think).
