Financial considerations though. Many prefer the pay up front at the beginning model as it's a one off yearly cost they can save for.

They can pay up front or monthly, either way they are committted to the payment and budget for it, and on a wet cold Suday evening think I've paid already so I'll go. By choosing match by match its easier to not bother and for a less attractive match may be harder to resell that ticket near to the game itself may lead to more empty seats than it solves.

You don't have to penalise people for not attending. If the system is changed so you have to buy your seat on a match-by-match basis then, as long as you have first call on that particular seat, the problem will be solved. If you can't go, you don't buy it and the club knows it's available.

Why is it so hard to believe that people will leave a game that had been over for 45 minutes, and had become an experimental, and rather boring training session ? (and yes I was there to applaud them off.)

Was hard to believe because we were 3 up not 3 down. Each to the own though eh :).

That said, when Raheem scored that brilliant last minute winner against Southampton last season, the stadium was less than half full. If getting home means so much to people that they're prepared to miss seminal moments like that in a season then that's their problem. And I bet a few season ticket holders on this thread missed it too.
Any criticism I hear about empty seats, oil money, buying the league blah blah, I just stroll off whistling the 'champione, champione' tune. Winds 'em up a treat !

You don’t give a shit that there are actual City fans who can’t get tickets because the club have come out and said it’s “Sold Out” only to see thousands of empty seats?

You don’t give a shit that we could have more SC holders or more tickets available for actual City fans as matchday sales but what the club actually do is sell thousands of tickets to tour companies and tickets agencies at the start of the season and those tickets are not bought from the agencies until we play a top game when a lot of those tickets are taken up by fans of the away team when actual blues are missing out?

The whole things a fucking disgrace if you ask me and we should all give a shit about it!

I think a fuller stadium generally creates a better atmosphere and I don't particularly enjoy seeing rows of empty seats, that said I completely agree that a few doesn't bother me and the criticism from other fans I really couldn't care less about. Most of them probably don't go to games themselves.
I plead guilty to not being there to see Sterlings goal against Southampton, I live to far away to get to many mid week games with work commitments . That said my daughter used my ticket and was there at the end.

What people have to realise about leaving the ground is that is only half the story. Many people have trains or buses to catch further along the journey. If you miss a connection you often have to wait at least another hour and that is if you haven't missed the last one so getting stranded.

Even in the old Maine Road days the transport was better when I was a kid. A quick run or walk to the Princess road bus depot and I could get on a bus straight to Wythenshawe. There were buses going all over Manchester so even on night games I could get home. Why can't they do that now? They have buses there but they only go to Piccadilly and you have to wait around for a connection from there. They could run football special buses from interchanges stopping off at a few points along the way.

TFGM seem to think the tram is the answer to everything and as such have started cutting bus services to areas it covers. We all know it isn't.

No easy answer but while the present transport fiasco exists so will the early leavers

People buy SCs for the convenience of not having to buy tickets on a match-by-math basis.

It’s not SC holders who need to be made accountable for all he empty seats because I reckon the club are at fault for most of them.

There’s no way that everyone in Block 210 said to each other at the Newcastle game “right, lets all fuck the Fulham game off!” I’m convinced most of these empty seats are the club giving tickets to agencies and the agencies not selling them... CONVINCED!

The club need to made to stop doing this (how I don’t know), they need to be shamed for it in public really, because what they’re doing is a disgrace!

Do we though I often see this, I'm sure there are some but thousands ? As far as I knew we have about 46000 s/c , 3000 away allocations which leaves about 5000 I would say a majority of these go on on sale to matchday members in July and are snapped up pretty quick leaving lots of singles dotted about which for most games are still available now.
So no doubt some seats are given to companies probably in the main level 2 padded seats but my guess would be hundreds certainly not thousands. Just checked and about 5 games are showing as sold out.
