City Fans Leaving Early/Empty seats

Whoever reads the reasoning, would be the obvious response.
Rather than this back and forth how about you give me what you would consider a good reason and then i'll give you one and we'll continue like that and see how many good reasons we come up with for leaving early.

Hopefully one or two of these reasons will chime with the various "superfans" on here and cause them to reconsider their intolerant stance

Getting to the front of the car park queue or getting home 20 mins earlier aren’t reasons for me to leave a football match early.

Work, caring, parenting etc can be, but they’re unlikely to be for every match.

"aren't reasons for me"

Pretty much nails the argument doesn't it. Might not be for you, might be for someone else. You're projecting your situation on to that of other people.

"unlikely" .... why so ? People follow routines, on balance i'd say it's more likely than unlikely that people do the same thing at the same time every week particularly if it's regarding the important matters that you list

Which is why this debate is perpetual. You don’t think staying to the end of games is important as a fan, whereas I do.

We will never agree on that.

I have left 2 games early due to family emergencies over the years, so understand that it can happen, but that’s well under 1% of the time for me.

Does that make me a superfan? No.

Does that make me understand why fans choose to leave early? No.

Shall we go round again?

Used to have a season ticket,my trip to Maine Rd and The Ethiad consisted of a 3 hr drive 3 hrs back, but i never left before the final whistle ever even under Stu Pearce even tho this added another hour to my journey...the extra time to get away was factored into my day.

Allway found it amusing people leaving early that lived local.

I'm gonna tap out here Alan

You certainly argue your corner well.

I’m not confrontational at the ground. As you say, it’s free choice. It’s just one I could never make, unless through necessity.

Enjoyed the debate, you argued your side well too.

If I see you sneaking out on Wednesday, watch out for a death stare and a slight tut. ;-)

It’s perplexing, some people are starting to leave on 70mins. That could be circa 30 minutes before the final whistle. Personally, I stay to the very end applaud the players off and slowly wander back to the car and let a lot of the traffic go. I tend not to have anything else on after the game so I guess I’m fortunate but I often wonder what people are racing off for at 16:40 on a Saturday afternoon?

The club could make us swipe out when you leave. Do it more than X times and seasoncard cancelled. ;-)

Rather watch it at home and see the whole game than miss large chunks of it. Can maybe understand those leaving in stoppage time, but if you're leaving in the 76th minute you aren't that invested in what's going on on the pitch. You can't be.

As somebody else said it is other people's business when you're constantly up and down having to let people out. Our supporters get enough ribbing without all being tarnished with the same brush too.
