Blue Mooner said:I fear that the one major thing that doesn't appear to have changed fundamentally since the Sheikh bought the club is the poor attitude of many of the City fans. The ridiculing of your own players and complete lack of patience - particularly towards new signings who are trying to settle at a new club and in a new league is a disgrace.
Since the start of the season and despite having one of the best defensive records in the premiership I have seen Kolarov written off, Boateng written off, Lescott branded a waste of money and we all know the stick Richards has received in the past and yes folks this is one of the best defences in the premier league !! ycnmiu !
In midfield, certain people questioned Silva very early on after a poor debut at Spurs and a quiet cameo at Sunderland. Yaya's quality has been questioned, Barry's supposedly past it, Milner not up to it, Vieras past his sell by date. The irony being that Adam Johnson hardly ever played early season but is the best thing since sliced bread ! (don't get me wrong I do rate Johnson) but I find it strange that a player that was rarely picked is the one player that gets lauded. Don't forget this is a team that is currently third in the premiership.
Santa Cruz has failed despite never really having a run in the team, Adebayor was criticised unmercifully (despite an unbelievable start) and now at Real Madrid (he's that poor one of the biggest clubs in the world want him!!?) You could blame Mancini but someone like Adebayor needed to be loved and most City fans were on his back, his form and confidence suffered and Mancini probably felt he couldn't pick him. We 'the supporters' (there's irony in that term too) probably contributed to his downfall.
Then there's the small minded brigade who seem determined to hound out any new fans that want to be part of the club. In particular all the Bosnians who love Dzeko and now want to follow MCFC. There are no rules as to why you follow MCFC we all have our own reasons but as long as they fall in love with the club who cares how they got here. This growth in our support is fundamental to the long term success of the club to generate the revenues that will allow us to continue to compete in the transfer market (with the advent of FFP). When you consider that many of our 'fans' clearly believe some of our expensive signings to be sub-standard this is the money we will need to generate to get someone better in order to progress. (for the record, I find the opinions from some of our fans on most of our players laughable)
Then its the weak mentality at the games, the defeatist attitude, the fear of losing - all transposing negativity onto the pitch on a match day. The bleating, the slagging of your own players like we are watching a team that's getting beaten at York not grinding out a tough nil nil draw against Arsenal at the Emirates (did anyone watch Barcelona get turned over there in the week?)
You can make all the excuses you like about lack of success for thirty odd years and the disapppointments and let downs. This isn't the City of old, this is a club backed by one of the richest benefactors in the world, with a world class management team and world class board with business brains that most of us could only dream of having.
If we are to see the success we all crave its time for some of you 'supporters' to sit down and take a long hard look in the mirror. Are you here to support the team to 'help' the club achieve its aims by looking at things in a positive way or are you just going to stay in your old moaning miserable way continuing to make it harder for the players and the team to succeed.
Do not doubt the impact WE 'the fans' can make. We can either help the players succeed or hinder. Its proven over decades, the positive impact the fans can have on the players performance. Listen to the likes of Van Persie who goes on record to thank the fans for their support and being the 12th man. Take a look at Stoke and see how their passionate support helps them win games at home when they can't buy one away.
If you simply cannot hold back when Viera misplaces a pass or Jo comes on as a sub please stay away, we will do so much better without you. I don't doubt these frustrated fans have good intentions or a deeply held desire to see us win its just your weak and negative mindset is hindering the club you love. Everything is changing for the better at our great club and its time some of our fans changed with it or simply did the honourable thing and at the very least stop attending games. That way you may just see the success you crave.
I doubt whether some of you will have even reached this point and I aplogise for the length of my post but its something I needed to get off my chest - and I feel better for it. If it makes just a handful of blues question their mentality and approach to supporting the blues then in my eyes it was worth it !
We are approaching the business end of the season with success still in our grasp and its up to us to seize the mantle and back the players all the way.
Blue Army !

he highlights the fact that at games if things arn't going are way we start moaning and ranting.
a few games back when jo(god help him) came on and you could tell the atmosphere in the ground was like ffs.
we need to take a look at ourselves and start properly supporting the team and giving players a chance when they join us.
Dzeko - for example i think we need to give him time because of the german winter break and also just a little facter of him transferring to the best league and the toughest in the world.
we need to be patient with the team and help them by supporting them.
e.g stoke there fans are great for helping the team get wins at home.
we the fans are crucial in our road to the top.
here is the thread that he wrote, read it all it's worth it.
