City fans weak mentality

That's what I find quite amusing about you Dave, in my experience of your posts you are 'generally' not backward in coming forward in expressing your crticism of the team but woe betide anyone who criticises the fans....

Brilliant post, probably would have missed this with the old forum structure.

Agree with everything.

I still think Barry is a bag of wank though. :)

The point about being entertained is an absolute load of rubbish, if that was the case fans would follow the teams who have the most entertaining team. Just on this page alone there are fans judging by there posts who have followed City for years. I myself started going regularly in 1984 and only two maybe three seasons stand out where City played some of the best football in the league. Entertainment is important, I like to see great players, with creativity thats why i enjoyed thorougly the arsenal v barca game. But I wont support either of those clubs, I would rather stick with City and hope to enjoy games like that.
That's fair. Just wanted to convey how alien the concept was to me when I first started hearing it. :)

Agree with the OP wrt getting on players backs at the games, nowt new in it though, I remember Paul Power becoming the big villain and got roundly booed whenever he got the ball for a period. I have never booed a city player in the shirt.

Having said that, when down the pub or in this virtual equivalent pretty much anything can go and there's nothing wrong with sharing opinions.

To be honest its not overly surprising you heard it, as evidenced by this thread some fans have a downer on the way english fans support there clubs and have this romantic view of foreign supporters which in my opinion is not at all accurate.

A case in point is the Aris fans and the Ultras. Aris average crowds of 9000 with many clubs in Italy, with this ultra support, eeing attendances fall year on year. Yet we hold this type of support as a model for our very own club. If clubs fans such as Aris and the Ultras had as damocles stated a greater understanding of its importance in supporting the club than english fans, I wonder why they dont attend more regularly.

I can see that. The only thing that really puzzles me is how quiet some matches can be.

By the way, if you want to ever see actual Bad Fans and you're on holiday in the States near Philadelphia, go to any sporting event there. It doesn't matter if you know the sport or not. They're loud, but they take the cake for hating on their teams... and everyone else.

We are approaching the business end of the season with success still in our grasp and its up to us to seize the mantle and back the players all the way.

Blue Army !

Well said that man, and to all you doubters and malcontents, remember:

"Football is the thing that we all live for,
Saturday's the day we play the game,
EVERYBODY has to pull together,
and together we'll remain..."

Because it's ludicrous to suggest that 40,000 city fans are significantly superior or inferior to 40,000 say everton fans

I'd suggest we are superior ;)
