City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

There will be some whining from the European clubs to this tv deal, they already complain the tv money we get now is unfair competition.

Re: "City face Euro Expulsion"

It's pretty annoying when all this FFP is pointed in only one direction! I feel the shit will hit the pan if we get banned from the champions league!!

PSG owner had it right we will keep spending the other top teams have had 20+ years of it!!
Funny that on wed both city and psg meet call it brilliant timing!:))

I think the Premier League will be bigger globally than the champions league within the next 5 years. It’s getting bigger and better every season, with the other European leagues declining.
I dont think this is a particular good thing. Even the PL needs competition from other leagues. Unless you want the CL semis and finals to be an all England matter for years and years?

Due to the money the PL is the most competitive league in the world. But even the PL needs to be aware that you need other leagues (and their teams, even the shithouses that 'own' their league as in Barca, Real, Bayern) to make football attractive.

I want City to become the Real Madrid of the champions league, anything else I don’t care much about

Consistency is an accounting PRINCIPLE and they don't seem concerned by that, so why worry about rules?
They certainly need rules to selectively apply them to City.
Whether disallowing a goal or applying FFP they need reference points to make us always obey the letter of their otherwise flexible rulings.

This is not only BRILLIANT NEWS for all soccer fans in the US, but will add even more TV money to assist FFP for years to come:

“NBC Universal have signed a six-year broadcast deal with the Premier League to showcase the English top-flight in the United States until 2028, extending their coverage with exclusive rights for the Spanish language.”

The deal is worth $2.7Bn, versus the previous deal worth $1.2Bn!

For those who haven’t had the chance, you should check out NBC’s coverage, some of which is on YouTube.

Rebecca Lowe, the main host of weekend coverage, is, by far, the PREMIER female football host IN THE WORLD! There, I said it!!

Worked with her a couple of times. Nice woman, knows her onions.

I wonder if they will favour covering the US owned clubs more than any other? ;)

I remember in the 90's when Serie A was the big league, the Italians saw winning their league as a bigger achievement than winning the CL.
If it wasn't for the fact that City keep winning the PL then that would be the case here now.

You need a lot of luck to win the champions league and we’ve not had that, hence why we haven’t won it yet. But nobody has ever got lucky winning the premier league, that doesn’t happen over 38 games.

Agree. Best team always wins the league whether we like it or not. Having said that there is less margin for error in cup competitions. Just look at some of ways City have been knocked out of the FA and CL over the last ten years
