I am sure Jack Pitt Brooke writes for one of the national papers now, maybe he could do something.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Change is happening in many sectors of business.

Supermarkets and their cosy little profit machines are being undermined by the Aldi /Lidl attack.
The Post Office having its monopoly of delivery being attacked by Amazons Sunday service.
Oil prices adjusting to realistic values is bound to affect tax revenues for UK, it certainly is hurting Mr Putin and Russia generally.

Im sure there are many other examples in a changing world with most contenders adapting to new ideas quickly just to maintain market share and hopefully profit margins.

The cartel of the G14 still believes it has control of its own destiny and is oblivious to the fact that the longer it refuses to embrace change the worse will be their ability to compete.
Unfortunately the dilemma for most of them is that they are either unwilling or unable to compete in the way ADUG have shown them because it means massive investment.

Looking back at MCFC just prior to ADUG takeover I doubt any Bank would have sanctioned expenditure with the massively expensive Business Plan the Sheik M. has funded but we are lucky he does not need Bank approval in fact he lends money to Banks who get themselves in trouble (re Barclays).

Well said Petrusha..

+1

There are some great posts on here at the minute. This sort of stuff should be in the national media for everyone to read.
Thanks Petrusha. I always enjoy reading your posts. This is a lengthy one, but not a word goes to waste. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and insights.

Noithing drives innovation like adversity. Both posts brilliantly sum up what City were forced to do as a reaction to the G14's attempt to stop a new player entering their cosy, closed-shop football domain.

Would we have been as innovative as we have had the world of European football remained the same? It was always stated that our initial heavy investment would be eventually replaced by a sustainable financial model, but I believe this process was accelerated and massively ramped up because of the probable consequences FFP.

So what have we done? It was made very clear we weren't welcome in the existing elite football world, so we've created our own world in which we are kings which runs parallel to the hackneyed world populated by the current European elite. None of them weren't arsed about us in the slightest as FFP had bitten, we were fined a world record £49m and were not allowed to spend over a sanctioned amount which saw the likes of Fabregas, Sanchez, Costa and Di Maria pass us by as we stood by seemingly nuetered by UEFA. Job done!

But less than 6 months later we post massively improved financial results which shocked the football world and now the smell of coffee is beginning to wake the G14 up to the fact that we are indeed just at the start of our journey. We've started the first phase of the preparatory work by creating our own world in which to operate, marketed this to sports fans and business commerce on a global scale never before seen thus giving an alternative to the stale tried and tested predictable football world of old which draws City and Bayern in the same CL group 3 years out of 4.

City are now a bigger monster at this stage of our development than we would have been if the G14 hadn't concocted FFP to try and kill us at birth. We are a monster of their creation and I don't believe it will be too long before the G14 begins to break apart as one by one they jump their sinking old world sailing vessel and try to board our new world carbon fibre power boat.

By all accounts Real are the first to realise this and the rest are sure to follow.

The opposite of Dribble that pal, great post.
What's this about Real?

Real Madrid strike £350m deal to renovate Bernabeu... and it'll be paid for by Manchester City owner Sheik Mansour!

. Real Madrid have agreed deal to update their Bernabeu stadium
. Work will cost £350m over three years to complete
. Real have vast debts and cannot afford to pay for renovation themselves
. International Petroleum Investment Company will fund the project
. Company is headed by Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour
. But deal will not infringe UEFA rules on club ownership

Bit by bit, little by little they will all realise that creating bent regulations to stunt our progress is futile, especially when you have one of the world's richest, intelligent and most determined men to contend with........ Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed bin Sultan bin Zayed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan.

Can anyone see Real jumping on the pro-FFP bandwagon and attacking us anytime soon?

One down, 13 to go.

The first bit of payback comes in next summer. I believe that City are to play Real in Melbourne and I'm sure that every opportunity will be taken to get our 'sister' club up and running with this fixture, not to forget the presumably high level of participation money that will be fought over.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Sheikh Mansour have a history with Real Madrid that starts long before he bought City... He and the current RM President are old pals and his club in Abu Dhabi have a lot of deals with RM.
