A quality article. A pity it is unlikely to appear in the Mail or the Guardian.

Its only a matter of time before someone on here complains about the article.I agree with you mate.
I tell you what though, it comes to something when all the behind the scences financial shinanigans becomes as important as what happens on the pitch.

Football lost its soul at the highest level years before Sheikh Mansour or Abramovic came along, so to blame City for all football's ills is plainly laughable. City ruining football? It's been ruined longer than I care to remember and all we've done is play by the same rules as Milan and Real etc have always done, but yet its only now they choose to bring in crippling financial constraints on clubs trying to invest to improve.

Fuck em all, I trust in our club to navigate their way around this FFP bullshit...... Ultimately, we shall overcome.
I'm pretty sure we already have, the rest of them are just waking up to the smell of the freshly ground coffee (Arabica blend of course).

Tick.......tock........tick.........tock............we've only just begun!

sponsorship

Appreciate if mods move this, but felt this a different thought to FFP.
If Sheik Mansour put substantial personal funds into melbourne + new york and they were to be a sponsor to city, how would that be a breach of FFP if they are not under the eufa umbrella ?
Any of you able to answer this ?

It's everything to do with FFP which is why I've moved it. It's a pretty stupid thought to be honest.

They're part of the same group and therefore, by definition, related parties to City. Doesn't matter a jot where they're based. Doesn't mean they can't but the transaction would need to be reported and represent fair value.

Also we agreed not to include income from within CFG for FFP purposes so even if it was considered fair market value, it wouldn't count anyway. And we'll be profitable from this year onwards so why would we need that anyway?

Not appropriate to have all various sources income and expenses included in FFP.

Net spend on transfer fees with reasonable limits on both fronts should be enough although its inappropriate for the game anyway where there are transfer fees and inappropriate salary caps if any.

HI PB any idea what our net spend will be this summer?

Just for one second, please have a think about the question you have just asked of a knowledgeable fan when it comes to FFPR but just a fan nonetheless.
