Breaking news.

Let's see how the 2 cartel club, Real and Barca, squirm their way out of this one.

La Liga to be suspended by Spanish FA over government interference

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has announced that all domestic football will be suspended from May 16 in an argument over government interference.

It centres around a law which was passed last week which forced the RFEF to sell television rights for La Liga collectively. Currently, all clubs negotiate rights individually which hugely favours Barcelona and Real Madrid financially.

"At the same time, and yet again, we reiterate the offer of dialogue to the Spanish government," the federation said on its website after a board meeting on Wednesday

Would be good to here something official from Uefa soon regarding about any possible restrictions. They should make it public soon.

Given the transfer rumours we expect no restrictions and huge spending, and we might have some inside info from Uefa, but lets make them make it clear to everyone that we are able to spend 150m before selling players as long as we dont break the FFP breakeven limits which still apply for every club.

I will expect quite a big reaction from Wenger and Mourinho when they will be asked about it. "There is no point of FFP then, we need it to be more strict etc..."

Classic line... 'Government interference is prohibit by FIFA'.
They fail to mention that it's ok when they want tax exemptions for World Cups, and want governments to help fund new white elephant stadiums, oh and wine and dine them whilst blowing smoke up their arses.

FIFA (and in turn UEFA) need to be stood up to. They run a game of football and should be reminded that like any other business, they don't run the country, not here, and not in Spain, not anywhere.

I would agree with them, it DOES need to be more strict.
Let's go back over the last 20 years and look at spending. What say you Chelsea, Liverpool, United?

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Hoping you are all right. Still have a doubt though considering UEFA are a bunch of charlatans

I don't think villa Sunderland or Newcastle are too worried about CL at the mo.

They're very worried about the consequences of qualifying for the ChampionsLeaguehip.

Is there a date where we should be hopefully confirmed as in the clear?

Not an official date but UEFA are in dialogue with any affected clubs this week so we should know one way or the other by Friday the 15th.
