Yes there does seem to be a big disparity between the potential fine and share price devaluation of VW compared to any impact they may have had on trying to support WFC during the KDB transfer negotiations.

Probably poetic justice rather than wheels within wheels extracting recompense.
 
I reckon there will be a lot of European car manufacturers that are fiddling the emission figures for diesel engines. NOx emissions 35 times higher than US limits is an astonishing disparity.
VW can just about take the hit. Some other manufacturers would be put out of business.

Anyway that's an aside VW will continue to sponsor their 'home town' club.
