City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

And there's still some bitter twat in the comments section

"The commercial revenue of Manchester City should not be used as a comparison. It is obviously just a gift from relatives of the owners in order to try and comply with regulations, which seem to have disappeared"

Yes, strange one that if not predictable because both Etihad Airways and Emirates have both benefited from PL sponsorship which is causing problems with the main US based airlines.

From City perspective I would think Delta should be asking why they and not Etihad were our preferred sponsor because they would have paid as much as Emirates do at Arsenal (or even Cadillac do at United) to get the fantastic advertising PL membership brings.

Their bitterness knows no bounds. They repeat it as a mantra so often they think it's true.
The irony of Emirates being a main sponsor for Arsenal escapes them the fucking dullards.
It obviously has gone undetected by them that our reliance on middle eastern income from sponsorship is now at thirty something percent and reducing year on year. Unsurprising that people with their head in the sand should miss that simple fact!
Can't wait for the next huge deal we do and then the income from whatever monolith is built on the collar site along with deals from the CFG pouring in. We will simply leave them behind counting their receipts from how many pies they've sold.
Fuck off gooners you entitled tarquin wankers.

The link provided on post #6211 on this page is worth reading through if only to find that the USA based airlines are basing their arguments on new money funding competition in their own back yard.

Sorry its a long article so I hope the following extract does not infringe the copyright issue on Ric's Forum ? The argument from both sides is familiar to most of us re FFP.

In other words, the US coalition contend that their profits have been generated organically, while the Middle Eastern airlines have found success through the practice of financial doping — where government money has placed them in an enhanced competitive position.

"The subsidies are enabling the Gulf carriers to increase their fleets at unprecedented rates and to push massive amounts of subsidized capacity into the market, regardless of demand, in order to radically increase the flow of passengers through their Middle Eastern hubs," Zuckman said in an email.

"This subsidized competition is harming US airlines on key international routes and putting air services and US jobs at risk," Zuckman added.

According to the partnership, 800 American jobs will be lost every time a US airline loses an international route to Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar Airways.

The Middle Eastern airlines' side of the debate
The Middle Eastern airlines have repeatedly denied the allegations of subsidies. Emirates,Etihad, and Qatar have claimed their new aircraft purchases, rapid expansion, and plush accommodations have been the result of their profitability.

Hmm. That sounds familiar. Where have I heard that argument before?

The old cliche of if the sheikh got bored is amusing. If he did put the club up for sale there would be a long line of people looking to buy into a successful company. Unfortunately for all the raggies with their wishful thinking I don't think sheikh Monsour is going to sell something that is making him money.

United may have bigger sponsorships than us at the moment, however prolonged periods of not winning trophies and the possibility of the 4th place not getting champions league football in the future could really hamper them when it comes to Securing any future deals.

Nota bene.. We really must look at the whole of CFG when talking finances, not just MCFC even if it´s the absolutely biggest slice of the cake

Could not agree more.

Care has been taken regarding the structure and formation of CFG as a Holding Company so continuation of investment well into the future seems likely (not necessarily all at City).

Hi Guys. I have a general football blog started recently (it's called Forensic Onions). I have just posted an article about FFP which I think is obviously relevant to ManCity and their fans. If you want to have a gander here's a link:

You can subscribe by email to the blog, or If you want to subscribe on twitter it's @ForensicOnions

I'm not a ManCity fan but I think the part of FFP which is trying to cap the likes of City, PSG, Chelsea from competing with the old money uber clubs is utter bollocks.
