City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

There's two examples, plus Eden Hazzard (went to Chelsea) Isco (Real Madrid)
If it doesn't work financially for City, the club will walk away
I have never heard of united, Real Madrid or Barcelona missing out on a player due to wage demands or a fee being too high
Barcelona made a fortune when Neymar moved to PSG and then they spunked the money away on shite
And Pogba and VVD by most accounts.

Again it's all very anti competition - you can only spend what you earn - in terms of debt. Here's your box and you stay in it.

At least with something like a Salary cap all 20 clubs in the premier league have say 100mil to spend on salaries for 1st team players and can distribute as they see fit. The salary cap is moving year on year based on the leagues revenue. All teams have the same salary budget.

The transfer system is more difficult as there is no real nursery system to feed the leagues and is a feeding ground for corrupt agents. That'll be difficult.

The rich do prevail - but at what cost. If two clubs can simply outbid everyone for everything, what becomes of football?
This is an interesting debate but as others have said city’s have been outbid numerous times in recent years. Your fear that we can and will out muscle everyone isn’t based on fact

our owners made a hard headed commercial decision to invest in us. They spent heavily early on to hope we would become competitive in an uppish market. Their bet came off and with 10 straight years of CL qualification, hopefully 5 titles, and numerous other cups we are now self sufficient l. Heck the shares sold to silver lake etc have covered their initial investment

our takeover was about making money. Transforming an undervalued asset and making a mint out of it. Not a vanity project to sports wash or throw limitless amounts of cash to buy trophies. It was to make money. And it has succeeded

Sheikh Mansour is royalty. We are a state owned football club. If the Sheikhs brother told him to stop being a silly boy spending the Emirates money on football he'd stop.

Thats the reality. Bury your necks in the sand all you want. That is the simple truth of the matter
It's been established that he's no longer "spending money" on the club.

If anything he's making money from the club now.

Sheikh Mansour is a well renowned business man with a very diverse business portfolio, he's not some rich kid spending daddy's money on credit cards.
He got £700M+ from CITIC and Silver Lake but he's a "silly boy" spending "the Emirates money". He increased the value of his asset from around £200M to making £500M from a 10% sale.

Khaldoon-Al-Mubarak said this on May, 2014

“I am looking forward to an interview six years from now when we look back at these rules and regulations that have been put in place which have a particular model in mind, and the model we started on six years ago and will take us for the next six years.

I think then, history will judge what was right for football. I have all the confidence in the world in where we are going to be in six years and what we are going to show in terms of being the right model.”
They are very clever people we have in charge of us and we’re lucky.

All im interested in knowing is did uefa say:

As a result of the diligence of mcfc lawyers we have seen the errors of our ways and have acted in accordance of fair play and abolished ffp.

Or are they giving the credit to coving?

As a result of covid, this has really funked up our plans of protecting the history clubs and servicing our debt. FFP is no more, but we'll be back....

Is there any truth on all of this or just rumours ?

I dont buy papers or watch any football coverage as such. Been on the bbc football website yesterday and this morning and cant see anything about ffp.
There is nothing popping up on my phones Google news app, plenty of football stories but nothing about ffp.

I havent seen anything about ffp apart from the post on here from someone tweeter account

Just rumours so far, I can see some measure of turning a blind eye though with the losses caused by COVID. I think if there's going to be any major changes to FFP though they'll come in with a new CL format in 2024 (if that goes through) and clubs will be well warned in advance, I'd imagine by the end of this summer.

Cant see how turning a blind eye will work to be honest. It would have to be written down any relaxing of ffp otherwise in 4years 364 days time UEFA might come back and charge you with breaking ffp. ;)
