City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

It has. This line caught my eye:

An impairment charge of £18.7m has been recognised based on an assessment of first team players that are not expected to be a member of the first team playing squad.

I wonder who that could be referring to?

Thankfully not on Sanchez.

PB!

Are you going to do a basic breakdown of the accounts for those of us who can't sort our own pocket money out, never mind trying to make sense of the annual accounts?(PDF)

Can you start off by clarifying if City did make more money than United and why?

Thanks.

How come that Mail story said we had a transfer net spend of 245m. How have they managed to come up with that figure? We spent 120m last season, 100m this season, and recouped quite a bit in sales, so that is absolutely nowhere near 245m

It's called "an article written by a jealous bastard who knows nothing about city". There a quite a few of them. :)

@Prestwich_Blue Isn’t the FFP allowable loss £30 million over a 3 year period?

Does this mean we have to make a much bigger profit for this season or are there COVID based allowances which will mean we will be ok?
Covid benefit I believe

Re: Man City - the Lisbon Lyons, the Porto Pussycats, the Faro Financial Fairplayers

I'm a professional accountant and I don't normally bother about the financial statements of clubs. There is absolutely no way these should turn a profit last season in "normal circustances".

They pay big wages and spent big money last season and their matchday revenue was insignificant because games were being played behind closed doors. However, common sense doesn't seemingly apply to these oil clubs because it's dodgy and should ordinarily alert regulators.

I'll give their account a read and revert.

We’re fucked. RAWK have an accountant on the case. Lol.
I am professional accountant. The best I ever did was pass a Journal entry which read as fllows :

PEDs A/c Dr
To Payable towards
Asthama Inhalers
A/c

Does our profit versus the losses at other clubs not make perfect sense? I was under the impression we took the decision to hold back some revenue that could have gone in the last accounts, whilst also including as many costs as we could? Hence the size of the loss last time. Those who follow this more closely than me can correct me but I remember us doing something along those lines. We took the hit last year.
