City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

Re: City & FFP (continued)

its a matter of principle

the principle being that we bow to the cartel

we bow to random changes in rules that the cartel wishes to impose to weaken us

we bow to random fines that the cartel wish to impose in order to weaken us

we bow to their smug self-serving sense of superiority and if we do it once we set a precedent for it to happen time and time again

in summary we are just made to bow. and made to accept weakening ourselves through submission to the 'allegedly 'greater'' will

FUCK THAT

we can all see what this transparent bullshit is actually about and it clearly contravenes basic EU anti-competitive legal principles at the very least

fight them every inch of the way the self-serving corrupt cartel representing twats

we owe it to the vast majority of clubs that are outside the cartel to fight for fairness on behalf of football as a whole

because stifling opportunity and promoting inequality in an effort to protect a very few clubs and their own sense of importance and entitlement is just clearly wrong - and in no way can be portrayed as ''fair''

The story is a lift by the Press Association from today's edition of L'Equipe, nothing more.

The assumption being, L'Equipe's excellent contacts within PSG give the article a major degree of credibility.

P.A. have done nothing more than this and the subsequent UK news outlets are now piggy-backing their lead.

The figures being attached to City, are an educated 'guess' that they will be in line with PSG.

Ask yourselves this question, how would Paris know what our assessments and fine are?

City have not been informed what PSG are facing from the Uefa audits.

If it is £50m, which is not even the amount you can accumulate for actually winning the Champions League, you will see the English champions throw down the ultimate gauntlet.

As I have stated, previously, I suspect Uefa want this to be challenged in court, so they can have the thing amended properly.

Exciting times ahead.
Any news on Ed's micro-penis TH?

So, all things considered, does this increase or decrease my chances of shagging Natalie Sawyer?

For some strange reason I got a picture of Natalie Cassidy in my head, there.

{shivers}
Did you really have to share that?

Sharing your problems is self-therapy, I feel.

We obviously can't say 'fuck off' to UEFA, unfortunately as much as I've personally found it somewhat under whelming, we need the Champions League more than it needs us. Obviously we don't need it for the money, we've got loads of that, but we need it to attract the right players and for the prestige.
So somehow we've got to work out an acceptable solution to this mess and that's probably going to mean accepting something that we all believe is unjust, biting our tongue, and moving on. The big problem we seem to have is lack of support for our cause. We have no allies, PSG appear to think they can rely on Platini to sort them out and the 'big boys' all want to see us hammered. Our own media, with the exception of Martin Samuel, is backing the opposition preferring to report the UEFA propaganda rather than actually act like real journalists and investigate the regulations fully.
If I'm honest, I'm pissed off like I can't begin to describe, albeit not surprised. Let's hope this serves as motivation to to the players tomorrow night and not the opposite.
We've begun to get a lot more support in the media recently, I think it's starting to sink in with a lot of people how ridiculous these regulations really are. Could be something to do with Liverpool being due to fail them next year as well tbf.

...and Martin Samuel will shake his head in disgust as the rest catch up and pat each others back for some fine reporting giving clarity and real perspective on what FFP really is.

I bet the blokes shoulders slump when he see's he is totally peerless and he did it with just a little bit of thinking for himself.
The rest have made it far to easy for him to be the best.

I'm gonna find his address and send him a nice bottle of red, been thinking about it for a while.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Our situation, as I understand it, is somewhat different to PSG.

Their deal with the Qataris has been deemed a related party transaction, and therefore a fair value assessment carried out. Their deal, backdated and without even any shirt sponsorship, totally smacks of sticking two fingers up at the whole FFP regulations.

As far as I am aware we have no related party transactions, so all vlaues have to be taken at face value.

We have made losses in excess of the maximum amount allowed, but only marginally, and have made great strides in halving our debt year upon year, so I was fully expecting a 'well done for trying' sticker, a warning & a suspended fine to ensure we continue to make progress.

I'm sure that behind the scenes we are working away to a mutually satisfactory outcome.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

I'm would expect the BEin sports deal with Uefa to be hammered.

Most of the media, our rivals, they don't want to know about the actual rules, all they want to know is if they will stop City.

Wonder how the Premier League's own rules re FFPR will come into play, if they disallow what UEFA have?

"Humbugged us"? Is this some sort of North Manchester working-class expression as I'm regrettably unfamiliar with it?

I was paraphrasing, it's what Wellington said when the Tipu sultan stole a march on him.

Very common term in North Manc amongst the natives, everyone says it.

"Humbugged by god, the blighter has humbugged me!"
In that case you shall henceforth be known as a "fuckin' miserable humbugger"

Haven't I always ?
